But can I offer the viewpoint (and if I am completely out of step with the rest of the RL fans then I apologize for any hurt this may cause) that at the showpiece event of Rugby League in this country we should not be seen to be honouring a man who is currently banned from the sport due to willingly taking illegal drugs that , by his own admission, he was taking because he thought they were undetectable not because he made a mistake or had been taking them unbeknownst to himself.'"
and youve highlighted this to make sure Cunninghams name doesnt get brought up.
Terry Newton had the balls to stand up and admit his failings and his reasons.... Ive always struggled with the "it wasnt me brigade"...
i'm no Fan of Newton more than any other opposition player but the bloke was 31 he had young kids and a wife and a mother & father oh and was a rugby League player a very good one with more GB caps than Cunningham if you want....
you dont have to love him or feel sorry for him just show him some respect by typing something decent on your keyboards and keeping your mouths shut for 60 seconds.....
Christ The Sun has headlines of "Rugby drugs cheat Newton kills himself" ....how nice is that...
surely we can show one of our own a bit more respect
