I'm with McClennan on this, it has to be an NRL coach, there simply isn't the quality in this country. Those suggesting KC and Scully are mental. Neither of them have any coaching experience.'"
Whilst I agree the job would be to much for them to be coach but assistant would I'm sure be right for either, how are they supposed to get experience?
We all complain one minute saying there are no good home grown coaches, then when we have a chance to get them on the first rung we just laugh it off.

| This is annoying. Potter finally starts to get the team, and especially the kids, playing how he wants them to and now we're back at the start, looking down the barrel of another rebuild and settling in period. Yay.
Hope the dimwits who wanted Potter out are happy now.

You can't seriously think that's the reason he's leaving?

| Remember Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield and Catalans (and maybe Hull, Harlequins and Hull KR) will all also be looking for coaches if the rumour mill is to be believed, which complicates things.

Where did I say it was? He's going regardless; they must be licking their lips at another season of disruption.

The best bit is, when we started playing entertaining rugby again, when the team spirit visibly returned anyone who suggested that that might be down to a bit of fan pressure, had scorn poured on the idea and everyone refused to accept that anyone in such a position would be so easily influenced by the fans.
Now, the very same people who insisted fan pressure had no effect, want to blame fan pressure for his demise.
Mick Potter had a two year contract and he is leaving at the end of it. I do believe similar things have happened with the vast majority of Australian coaches who have been here for a period of time.
Who was to blame for Daniel Anderson going home?

| Meninga was a big failure at club level so I wouldn't touch him. At least some of the names being mentioned have won something e.g. Stuart & Folkes.

| Its a pity we can't entice Anderson to come back for another stint. On the optimistic front I, m wondering if our chairman might have something up his sleeve with a big name coach and a big name player to kickstart our new stadium beginnings.

By starting in the national leagues or with the juniors like most other
coaches.

| I'm not too concerned with getting a marquee name, we need a good coach with up to date tactical knowledge, an experienced no 2 from Aus would do as long as they can continue to develop the youngsters. Look at Maguire at Wigan, I wouldn't scoff at someone along those lines.
As was the case when Potter was appointed, evolution rather than revolution of the youth development is needed.

| Why the big rush for Craig Bellamy? It shouldn't be too difficult for any modestly gifted Aussie coach to succeed with a team that secretly plays with a second deck of cards out of sight. Even Eric Hughes would struggle to turn Greg Inglis, Smith, Folau etc. into bad players.
The best should be judged on results achieved WITHIN THE RULES, not outside of them.
