I live hundreds of miles from Knowsley Road, doesn't mean I have no way of knowing how we played or how a match developed. Perhaps when you're old enough to have a job, you might miss games too.
Warrington have now played 3 good teams, and lost to 2 of them.'"
Right ok, and have a job? I'm 23 and have a job But, anyway, back on topic as you seem to have missed the point. Don't get me wrong I actually wanted Saints to win on Friday, but I genuinely feel that if Warrington showed something in the attacking 20 they would have won that game, of course my opinion, you have yours. That is all i was saying, I wasn't saying Saints were a poor team. And yes, you're correct about Warrington playing 3 Good teams and losing 2. Look forward to Good Friday.

Appreciate that, but having something to offer in the final 20 is part and parcel of being a top side. And doing it under pressure, even more so. Wire have come up short twice in the sense so far this year.

Too right. I'm going to that one so will be allowed to comment.

to be fair...against Wigan we were well on top and on course to beat them when Briers got carried off....and against you Briers didn't even play.
I wonder how Saints would fair against us or Wigan if the same were to happen to Eastmond?

Well, we had to play the second half with Kyle at full back and Roby at scrum half when Wellens left the field, so it was hardly plain sailing. At least you had settled halves for the 80 . . . .

That's a good question as he's really developing well. However, we do have back up halfbacks so while it is likely that things would not be as good, we would probably cope.

Something like last year when we lost Longy and played a second row at scrum half and beat Leeds in the CC?

People are thinking that Mcguire has somehow suddenly turned an average playing roster into a world class one. Our pack is twice their pack and our halfbacks are streets ahead in terms of skill and form. You can argue on paper their backs are stronger and in Roberts and Richards have the 2 best wingers in the league, but our backs are as solid as a rock in defense.
It will be over by the 60 minute mark.'"

I can't bear the similar muppetry on the Wigan board at times, idiots saying prior to the Bradford game that we were going to go unbeaten all season, as if we had assembled an all star team from the 80s and 90s rather than a side that was mediocre last season until the play-offs and had lots of players who were unfit or playing way below potential.
Mind you, you all would have had a laugh at the Wigan fans responsible and we too can chortle at your over-excited fans, so there is at least some amusement value.
The reality is that this is going to be a tough game for Saints - the play-off game last season was close and we are significantly better now than we were then.
On the positive side for you, everyone connected with Saints will be desperate to win this game, the last derby at KR is going to be like a cup final in terms of atmosphere. Wire founded out how dangerous a team with wounded pride can be and if your players gave 100% to defeat the Wire wannabes I'm sure they will find a few extra % from somewhere to take on their true rivals.
As for us, I'm sure every Wigan player will want to win the game. SW in particular will have them fired up for this one. Should be an absolute cracker of a game, which is what the fixture - the one thing we can agree on is that, with the greatest of respect to our friends in Hull, our derby is the greatest fixture in RL - and the famous old ground deserve. Bring it on!

I'll continue this unlikely love-in by saying that I'll miss KR. I don't envy what you will have to go through at the end of this season. The last game at CP was a very sad day. I know many of you will claim it will be different for you because your new stadium will be "yours" and we were moving to a shared stadium, and perhaps it will to some extent, but it wasn't so much where we were going but what we were leaving behind that was really the sad part. Leaving a ground with so many memories and so much history to move to a modern, soulless stadium is difficult, particularly when the recent history was so glorious. Its going to be a very sad season for you, but at least your players seem up for giving the old ground a good send off.

I actually feel very sorry for Paul Wellens. It must be devastating for a local lad who has given his all for Saints to miss the last league game against the old enemy.
Your local lads in the team will want a victory in this game more than any other this season, because they know how much it means to them and your supporters.
Obviously being a Wigan fan I want us to win (bragging rites forever) but a bit of the old softie in me wouldn't begrudge Saints this one win.

If he is missing the last one I hope he is fit for the first one at the new ground as that is important too.
