| One of the biggest disappointments for me this season is Wilkin, and his Fielden/Frank Bruno impression against a Centre on Friday was frankly embarassing. If you're going to have verbals with another player then at least grow some balls and f'ckin square up.
Christ, even Burrow was talking a pop at him at the end!.
Oh how we miss Scully.

| Wilkin I respected and admired, but they way he acted pushing over Senior was more like a spoilt kid! he should have been penalised, but that says so much about our so called officials these days?

I,m glad he didn,t get involved. You know how the RFL disciplinary works, Wilkin would have got a 2 match ban for retaliation, against Seniors 1 match ban for throwing a punch.

That would be doing you a favour. Let him stick to his BBC column. He is a waste of space, surely you could do better.

I’m sure that’s exactly what was going through Wilkins mind, whilst he was sat on his backside wondering what planet he was on. Maybe he’ll think twice before he niggles his opponents in future, now everyone in the game knows he isn’t prepared to back it up.

| Wilkin has had it coming for a long time. Senior isn't as stupid as he looks, he knows as well as anyone that Wilkin may talk the talk but is about as hard as sponge. If it had been a Tallis or Sculthorpe having a go, I'd have put all the money in the bank on Senior not throwing.
That being said, Wilkin needs to cut it out, giving away needless penalties and in the end getting sat on his backside was always going to be the result.

| Quote: Smart Rs "I'm working over in Hull and there are a good few HKR fans on the site I'm working on. There is quite a strong rumour coming from them that John Wilkin will be playing for them next year. I only came home last and haven't heard anything on here after a quick browse through but one of the men who told me used to coach him at Skirlaugh when he was a young lad and he reckons it's very close to being a done deal. Another used to play in the same amateur team as Wilkins dad and he seems pretty sure too.
Anybody else heard anything or is it just these East Yorkshire pricks trying to wind me up?
Not heard that rumour, but if its true I would welcome him back, he would add a lot to our squad.

| Wilkin has been one of our stand out performers this year. He has tackled everything that has moved unlike many other players who keep getting praise heaped on them.
We were clearly not the best team on the pitch against Leeds but we were much better than in previous weeks. If you want to blame our lack of flare in attack then IMHO it is our halves to blame, if we do not score from a kick or from Gidley been creative then we really struggle. The messiah that is Eastmond is a million miles from the finished article and Pryce has been totally ineffective and excuses about the pack when you are 10 meters from their line are rubbish.
Pryce and Eastmond as our halves next season will be disasterous.
Whether Wilkin can stand toe to toe who cares he puts himself in that position for the team trying to mix it and get the team motivated when we are lets be honest getting pounded.
It will be a miracle if we make it to the final this year i'm afraid.

| Quote: Roy Haggerty "Exactly - see the what's wrong with Potter thread - Wilkin's role is to run at a retreating defence with the ball in two hands. He can pass either way, step or drive. But he needs space. Our lack of front-row means he has no space to play his game in.'"
Suppose it just shows how much players nowadays rely on forwards getting a roll on. It's a common theme across the game that a lot of players struggle to open a defence unless it's back pedaling. Hopefully they will develop their skills so they get better at it over time.
Wilkin could well be carrying a knock, a lot of players are at this stage of the season and it could be a bit of a handicap.

| I wonder if Jon should have been allowed to have his surgery, so many of the forwards seem jaded! is it the Potter system, you can have Brian Mac! with pleasure.

| For a forward to niggle a centre and get sat down is embarrassing.
Wilkin should stop pretending he's some sort of hard man and get on with the game.

Means nothing in today's game. Keith is a big lad. Lesley Coca-Cola was a winger but was bigger physically than a number of SL props.
