39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

To be honest I've not seen much of him and when I have he not done much.
From what I hear he is very good.'"
Myler went abit shy in the game as Wigan started to dominate, however when he did have the ball he finds gaps and half gaps that are not even there. He puts in some good kicks but not consistent. He does not organise his team, which I am sure will come with experience, but Sam Tomkins in his first home game against Bradford came straight in shouting at Feka.

| Quote: Mugwump "Dobson is nothing special. A world-class scrum half (as good as Lyon in his position) I could JUST accept. I'd feel sorry for the kids, but players like that don't come along every week. Anything less and I'd be furious with the club. To spend years of hard work developing a superb junior development scheme and then favour signing an average plodder would be criminal.'"
Spot on. If we sign Dobson I will be seriously peeved.

There's a similar thing between Smith and Eastmond.
You can see Eastmond has the confidence to organise more senior players what to do, something I don't think I ever saw Smith doing whenever he was in the 1st team.

| I think this thread has just taken on a little more realism with the shock news of Longy signing for Hull.
So have we come to a conclusion?

| According to McManus, it sounds like we will be using one of the kids next season.
We have a number of very exciting young players who next season will be commanding regular, first-choice, selection and they must be given every opportunity in the long-term interests of the club. St Helens are committed to this policy.

Hopefully Eastmond can have an injury free seaon but if not that would really open the door for someone like Lomax to make their mark.

| But they HAVE TO start games SOON - and plenty. We can't afford to deny the kids game time in favour of Long for the entire season and then throw them into the deep end at the start of next. That's suicidal.

Very true Muggers, especially in the big pressure games that we will hopefully be involved in again this season.

| Given that the Long contract mystery is now at an end I think we'll see a big improvement from Kyle. It can't be much fun playing second-fiddle to a legend and this will clear up any insecurities he had about next season.
Look at the development of Arsenal's kids when Henry left.

Didnt hurt Sean Long did it, who was making sparodic appearances when Goulding was scrum half.

That's different. At the time we weren't even sure what Long's best position was. Don't forget - most people thought he was a stand off (many still do!).

Don't forget the infamous (st craig inspired?) Sean Long to centre about four/five years ago
