I think hull have one of the best packs in the league, but Salfords table position is not a reflection of their ability.
They are a decent attacking side. Carney is a winger we all were hoping we'd sign.
Just got a match report from my family who went and it seems like we did our homework on their players lots of tackling their players around the legs rather than trying to hit the chest and bounce off.
Peyroux got a decent report, as did Owens when he had to fill in for lomax.

| There aren't as many responses obviously, because there wasn't that much to comment on. Like online shopping reviews, the majority of those motivated to respond are at the extremes of unhappy and happy. We won so no one is extremely unhappy, but we certainly didn't play well either, so no one is going to be too impressed.
It was a typical Saints performance in the Langtree Park era. We built a decent lead, then seemed to go really, really flat. On the hour mark Salford had brought it back to 22-20 with multiple tries coming in a very worrying period where it looked like we were in complete and utter disarray. They were making breaks at will in that period and we got very lucky with a penalty then Theo's try stemming that tide. They then lost their composure and it got very messy.
Who mentioned Owens having a decent game? Utter nonsense. I'd love to know why he continues to be selected. Lazy, slow, scared of contact, poor under the high ball, can't tackle one on one. He did absolutely nothing of note again.
The positives? The fact we didn't completely collapse must be one I guess. LMS again was by far our best player. He's been outstanding this season and was again yesterday. Peyroux actually looked like a competent professional player in the second row. I think, like Sia, we'll see him there for the majority of his time here now if that performance is anything to go by. I still think he'd been roadkill against a Wigan/Warrington/Catalans/Hull pack but definitely better than at centre.

| Don't see anything unusual. Expression of relief that they had secured the game.

Yeah you're no doubt mate. I watched it a couple of times and interpreted it as a 'have that, we showed you' kind of body language especially when he kicked the advertising board. KC has reacted to pundits and fans criticism a couple of times this season, and I wondered whether he has sort of tried to create a us and them atmosphere.
I showed it the missus and although she knew what I meant, she thought it was more a relief kind of thing.
Anyway, as you know I can talk some cr*p at times

| On the night I thought Amor's reaction when he scored looked like a bit of anger release towards the fans.

| Although I'm a season ticket holder, for a variety of personal reasons I've missed a lot of matches this year, that together with some of the indifferent performances I have seen has led to a drop in interest so I was pleasantly surprised when I glanced at the league table and noticed that we're 4th and only 2 points from the top.
In fact if you want to be optimistic and results go right for us this weekend we could be level top (with three other teams)
Now before you all accuse me of living in cloud cuckoo land I am realistic enough to know that Huddersfield are getting some form back and it will be tough but maybe there's some life in this season yet ☺

I'm relieved someone else thought the same. Although I thought it was Walmsley's body language that seemed to be anger towards the fans....in fact, balls to it, I think it was. I'd be happy to be wrong but the whole reaction was beyond relief in my eyes and more a we showed you kind of reaction.
I'd be interested to know what other people think.

I reckon the players would have had a rollicking from management in the week leading up to the Salford game and it did seem a sign of anger defiance. Seem to remember Amor and Walmsley only came off the bench in the last 15 mins and these two made quite a bit of yardage in a couple of sets and I think Walmsley made a tackle bust to get us deep inside Salfords 20.
When Amor scored there was an almighty roar from the fans behind the sticks and some of the players reacted to it, sooner have an angry Walmsley than keeping it bottled up.

| It wasn't great, but it was a win.
We look far better with Lomax, Percival and Swift in the side.

Been really pleased to see how Lomax has returned looking so good, just hope he keeps completely injury free, Percival always liked, but Swift I know it was his first game back but his tacking at times was atrocious, never see him reaching the major heights.

All three still a bit rusty, Swift was pretty good prior to his injury. Really need some settled centre/wing partnerships, Percival-Peyroux-Dawson-Turner-Swift-Owen-Makinson have never really had a good run of games in the one partner position as yet.
