Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.

| I reckon we might finish in 6th place, for a team that has been poor for perhaps 20 games out of the 24 so far, just shows how bad superleague is at the moment.
The current top 4 are way ahead performance wise over the rest of the league.
Hull KR and Hull have looked better than us this year, yet for some reason we have managed to creep above them.

| It only occured to me this weekend.
Saints play our last game of the season on Friday 6th of September.
Penrith play their last game 2 days later on the 8th.
Any chance we have already started the Visa paper work on Walsh. Deregister Perry and bobs your uncle (salary cap permitting) we have 2 halfbacks.

Don't RL contracts run until November?

I doubt this would ever happen.
Even so, it would be a huge ask of the player to come here and slot into our system seamlessly.

Agreed. You only have to look at Jacob Miller at hull. He's only starting to show any form now and he's been here about a month.
Leave Walsh until next season IMO.

The RFL changed the rules after the "Joey" Johns fiasco.

And rightly so.
I don't think it's good by the club to bring a player in basically just for the play offs. The fact Warrington actually de-registerd a player to bring Johns over was disgusting for Appo (I think).

| Don't feel sorry for appo, after his 'amazing' quarter of a season in 03 he turned up to pre season badly out of shape expecting to just walk into the team, and when he didn't get the stand off role he saw his and did bugger all for the next year and a half, he was only playing now and then as we didn't have anyone else to pick at that point.
He was well paid for two years for not doing very much.

| This would be different. Walsh is coming in November to begin a 2 year contract, this would only mean he would be coming a bit early. Perry is already leaving and the rules say we can deregister him but his salary still counts toward the cap.

| I understand it's not a golden bullet. But given we have not had more than 2 weeks of any consistent halfback pairing, it was just a thought that had occured to me.
Like people say there are issues with is, but it's an option.
As for his full year counting on the salary cap, that can't be true surely. Otherwise loan players or players transfering club mid-season would become unstuck by this.
If we had a 2nd halfback playing already I would agree it's not a move I would like to see. But given our longer term injuries if we had the space, it would be an option worth keeping open. Even if just cover against GOB getting another shot to the head.

We signed grose as a centre in 03 and he was shifted to fullback in 05 to accommodate Gleeson and koh love's return.
Our actual full back at that point was my good mate Daryl cardiss, who we couldn't get on the field due to injury and I believe he had some family issues at the time, Appo did fill in occasionally or on the wing but in his mind he was stand off or nothing.

| Grose, that was him. Not a bad player from what I remember
Cardiss was also a good player, I especially remember him being a live wire for Halifax.
