The best thing about Brian Smith is that he would develop KC into a top coach

I think that has probably got more to do with the arrogance of the Aussies than anything else. They have come to view Superleague as a training ground for their assistant coaches, which in part is our own fault because we will keep taking on their assistant coaches but also is a reflection of the view they have of our game: that it is somewhere between their second tier and the NRL.

How so? Has Brian Smith ever won anything over there? I'm sure someone once said that he hasn't.

Sorry but i cant help but think think that Nathan Brown has no pride in coaching a top team like Saints,but see's it more of a stepping stone to getting back to the NRL,,apologies if i'm wrong and i hope i am but thats how its being potrayed..

...and how many Aussie coaches do you think are over here to fulfill lifelong dreams to manage Leeds, Warrington or whoever or have the club crest tattooed across their chest or whatever exactly? The only coaches we have working in this country are ones that are biding their time waiting for an NRL job, or ones that just aren't good enough to get an NRL job and are settling for the best thing they can find. Brown is no different to any of the rest of them.

It's no different to any other coach or player, if they are in demand the people will want them.

Its not with Brown though. His entire spell at the giants has been full of speculation about him getting an NRL job. He has stated this publicly and a couple of times announced he was not staying, only to then go back on it because of a lack of concrete interest from the NRL. I'm not going to be happy if he has us in a mess because he's whoring himself around the NRL next year.

Its clearly what he wants and if I were McManus I'd be demanding his word that he'll see out his contract and if he won't do that I would offer him a way out of his deal now so we can find a replacement.
