| I have given my season ticket to people who would usually pay/not go at all whilst I've been on holiday, probably for the past 25 years or so. To me it just seems like a decent thing to do rather than let the ticket go to waste. Not only is there no way for the club to find out and stop me (beyond ridiculous measures anyway), it wouldn't make sense for them to do so. They would be kissing goodbye to sales of a season ticket, shirts and merchandise from a loyal supporter year upon year.
The only 'deceitful' ticket situation I could envisage would be buying a concession season ticket and with the modern turnstile system passing it off as an adult ticket every year. However, I know people who have done this at Wigan for years, and frankly if they had to pay the full adult price they wouldn't bother at all.

| Like I said the rumour in question was a young lady using a child's ticket, hence the police involvement.
But if your ticket says not transferable then Saints can ask for ID.
Or they may do random samples, so just checking camera's with the season ticket. So if joe bloggs uses Auntie Sue's ticket, that will stand out a mile, compared to fred bloggs using joe bloggs ticket because other than having everyones photo on file, only obvious differences like sex and age can be determined from a sample camera shot.
I'm assuming that's how this young lady got caught out, either that or someone dobbed her in.

| Just to clear this one up, I was the Bloke who was lucky enough to 'rent' the season passes for the day for the Saints V Goons match.
The chap 'Renting' made it clear to me that due to work/family he had been unable to attend any home fixtures since the start of the season so he was simply making available 3 seats to any willing fans (Saints).....
To be honest I bought them to gain 'Brownie' points and to surprise my Mrs so we as a Family could go to a potential LP spectacle ....
Regards,
Jock
PS, I made sure my Mrs and the 2 kids gained entry before we made our way to the west stand entrance.
PPS, The tickets were for 2 adults and 1 child BTW,,,,,,,So if my child had be found using an adult ticket would they have been refused entry ?
TBH, The club trusted the fans to buy the right tickets for the 2012 season and so far may people are coming to the conclusion that they could have bought any old ticket and still gained entry to the ground on match days....

| How about Hospitality packages.
Some businesses buy season tickets at Saints for Customers and give them to different people each week and never have a problem.

| It happens every single week. I've had three different lad sat infront of me and they are season ticket holders.
I borrowed mine many times last year as I was so busy with work I couldn't go.

| I've had an email from the club, they hope to be able to offer one-off seat upgrades for unused season tickets but at the moment the system doesn't allow it.

So it would seem that it isn't the club being ridiculous. Let's hope they sort it out soon.

| I can confirm that tickets were taken by the police as it happened to my sister in law and niece. The sister in law is a season ticket holder in south stand, but niece had been offered two season tickets in west terrace as holders couldn't attend. Sister in law offered to stand with niece and gave her ticket in south to someone else (who got in). Sister in law and niece didn't get in as police took tickets off the owners of them as they were handed over and said "touting is not tolerable" and despite claims that they were ticket owners police didn't want to know. Sister in law and niece didn't get in. I don't know what happened to ticket holders.

| When I was going in (good friday), someone got caught and all that happened he was told to pay for an adult one.
I asked one of the guys at the gate about it because I nearly bought a childs ticket off someone and he said all that would happen is you would have to upgrade.
Common sense really.
Why would someone get turned away leaving a free seat?
even as a supposed sell out the stadium looked empty in parts.
As im typing this ive just read about some other people. Discusting if they are turning people away.

| Quote Cragganmore Kid="Cragganmore Kid"Impossible, I tried this for Good Friday as my pensioner parents couldn't make it and I had two non-concession pals who were happy to buy tickets to go.
I went to the ticket office, and my proposal to upgrade (or even pay for two full priced adult tickets for those seats) was not entertained in the slightest. I got the stock answer of "those seats are paid for, it doesn't matter if they're not being used" - yeah, I get that, but I'm offering to pay for them AGAIN - plus the increased revenue at the refreshment kiosks etc. They weren't having it.
So I emailed the club, the Tuesday before Good Friday. Still waiting for a reply...
Bonkers.'"
At Wigan they cancel the ST card and take it from you and then issue you a paper ticket before posting the ST card back to you after the game.

Makes all kinds of sense.
Soon the penny will drop at Saints too - it's hardly rocket science, is it?
