He looks too slight at the moment, didnt he come through the u20's as a centre? I know he got murdered there last season against salford

| Don't rate Foster at all personally, Makinson much more of a talent.

I don't think he can beat a man. Would feel safe with him defending there either.

| The long term future centre at Saints will be Mark Percival in my honest opinion. He is the most natural English centre i've ever seen. Just been called up to the England youth set up Vs Australia in December.
The worrying thing about Foster is that although i want him in the Saints team, i also would'nt give him big wages and with the kicking game he posseses he could be a target from Union.

| 400 points in a season....as a rookie.
Wow.
All opinions regarding his current talent or his potential - that is astounding for someone of his age and (lack of) experience.
He makes some very amateur errors, but some of his magic is exceptional - and with time he'll only iron out his errors and improve on his magic. He's only going to get better. To do anything except back him at the moment would be suicidal.

I agree with you here. I'm not trolling, but I honestly don't rate Foster. I think he's a great goalkicker but a pretty average player. From what I've seen of him (obviously not a lot), he seems to score pretty simple walk in tries and he's not too reliable in defence. Obviously, I've not seen as much as you all on here, but he really hasn't impressed me from what I've seen.

| I'm still not hugely convinced with Foster, like ade but with a kick, which makes him way ahead of Ade. Makinson is faster and like last night seems to have a bit more skill. He also is a very good kicker. God knows how Ade will get back into this team

If Shenton doesnt make the beginning of the season and Makinson fills in at centre is the only way Ade [ishould[/i get back in. Still for me it waste of cap space, I'd rather have Nathan Ashe get a few games under his belt than persist with Ade. Dont get me wrong , I went to an Ade testimonial forum and he comes across as a nice bloke and a very good pro but as a player for me he's just taking a space a young lad could be fighting for.

Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.:Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG |

| He's still a young kid, with a lot of development in him, I like his attitude and temperament...................to score 300 points this season which is almost 40% of the teams points is quite good for a rookie don't you think.

The one where he put it around his back before putting it down? I didn't think that there was much need to do that to be perfectly honest.

Except he caught it behind him, so had to?
It wasn't a 'showboat', it was a great piece of skill and awareness of his position which was the difference between a try and no-try.
People bag Foster for being nowt but a kicker, and bag Meli for being an awful centre.
Baffling, then, that Foster would score so many tries, or be handed so many 'walk-in' tries, on what must be the weakest flank Saints have ever had?!?

| I think Foster will prove a lot of people wrong over his career at Saints. I have high hopes for him and Makinson.

Agree completely. Both extremely young, with all the raw materials - just needs a top coach to help them fulfil the potential.

I could be wrong about it then, at the time I just thought that he was "showboating". I do hope that Foster and Makinson meet their potential because it can only be good for England RL in the future.
