But if you were Potter we'd be bottom of the league and still looking for our 1st win of the season.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| With players like Gardner and Meli it's likely to happen. I have been impressed with young Foster since his poor game at Salford though.

| Our kicking in the opponent's 20m hasn't been brilliant this year.
That said, is Potter seriously considering playing Meli and Gardner on the same flank? Or will Gidley come in and Flannery remain the other centre?

I'd rather see Meli at centre than Flannery.
He pretty much dominated King last week, who's only real break came against Flannery. Flannery's lateral defence is not great and can be exposed more in the centre's than it is further infield.
Gidley and Meli would be my choice.

Hugely preferable to them both being on separate flanks fielding kicks, wouldn't you agree?

Not really. Surely their vulnerability under the high ball would then be compensated by a good centre? If you pair them up you're only doubling the size of the target.
Foster will have an easy afternoon.

| I doubt that Foster will be playing as Lomax is back.

It won't double the target at all, if anything it will half the target as we will only have Gardner on the wing, with Foster on the other. Leeds will kick to the corner to the winger, Meli won't be on the wing so its unlikely he will be under any kicks. Meli has been very good when put in the centres, and i'd stick with it. If he continues to impress there, i'd stick with it next season also, and keep Soliola in the pack.

I'd pick Foster regardless. Foster has proven that he is capable when under some pressure, in a couple of big games away from home, theres no reason to drop him IMO.

Playing outside Gidley instead of Flannery will help him alot.
I knew he played well last week, but it wasn't until Jon Wells picked some defensive elements in his game that I realised just how well!

So both of them won't be defending cross-field kicks?

Both of them wouldn't be catching cross field kicks, and that is there problem.

I'm quite surprised at how many people are choosing Foster over Lomax, I thought that Lomax was excellent before his injury, particularly in defense. The only way I can see Foster playing is if Lomax isn't 100%, or if Potter feels that keeping Foster in will help with consistency as he played last week.

Lomax was playing well, i'm not doubting that. He got injured and Foster came in and took his chance, he shouldn't be dropped because he too, is playing well.
