Meli is great with the ball, he makes tons of yards, but that one loose carry and his defending of kicks were big errors at the wrong time. He would have scored the chance that gardener had in the secon half though, the one where Webb assaulted him with his knees

I agree totally and have said so on these boards. However, the problem with Meli is that when he makes his 'individual errors' they are usually of the costliest kind imaginable, which was again the case last night. We haven't seen those errors lately and I'd actually forgotten that he makes them but my heart sank when he had his brainfart. After playing so well for so long, why did he go and do that at the Grand Final for heaven's sake?

It's tough to blame meli for last night as he played really well and been on top form nearly all year but his drop ball at 10-9 cost us the game IMO.

We was just getting back on top and making good yards but then meli cocks up again and it did cost us.

I can't stick up for Gardner any longer. He is rubbish. No pace. Can't catch. Can't beat a man.

But, you see, that is all negated by his brainfarts at the Grand Final. It's no good having someone in such a key position playing great for a couple of months and then cocking up in the most important game of the season! He's done it too often to make excuses for him. He really did let us down last night. He wasn't the only one - Cunningham was terrible and his booby right under the sticks cost us just as badly in psychological if not points terms. But Meli playing great for a couple of months is meaningless when he gifts tries in the Grand Final.

These two must be the worst pairing of wingers we have had in many a year.For all the good work Meli does in bringing the ball away from the line he has again made two major cock ups which led to their scores.Gardener should go back to Barrow and assist in their attempt to join SL.

How messed up can you get in one post - apparently because Meli lost the ball it was his fault for Leeds' 3rd try - but not the players who failed to cover in the next set of six.
But for Leeds' 2nd try it was all his fault not Fasavalu's for losing the ball in the preeceding set of six

This obsession Saints fans have with picking out individual players to use as a scapegoat is starting to wear thin, the Wingers were not the only ones to make mistakes - Saints were incapable to take advantage of the errors from Leeds - and there were just as many as there were from Saints - the Leeds' kicking game meant that we were always returning it from our try line and not from the 20m line as they did - that territory eventually told and Leeds simply bossed the game because of this and their defence.

Stop blaming individuals for a team game - accept that we just were not good enough all round
