There's certainly room for improvement but we really need to be looking for another Amor

| Its fair to say our forwards didn't get the better of theirs and that usually leads to the halves being under pressure. Its interesting that there are already a few posts about how good Walsh was. I thought he chose the wrong option on quite a few occasions, moreso in the second half when we were struggling, putting the team under more pressure when we just needed a few minutes of percentage play. He threw a cut out pass to the wing a few times when the winger was marked and I'm not sure he tried to settle us....more he wanted instant improvement without the hard work. Ultimately he is a terrific player but some supporters need to see average games from individuals when they happen instead of just blaming Wellens and Hohaia.
It looked like it was us who was two subs short but we did seem to throw in quite a few errors (knock ons, penalties).

I didn't get the impression Walsh wasn't working hard. He has a right to expect us to work hard given the nature of the game. He shouldn't need to nanny us into doing the basics, like catching a ball and tackling the opposition. He was also operating with an injured arm. When I first saw him injured in the first half I thought we were going to lose him. He looked in agony. I can't blame him for getting out to our edges. Our forwards were naff all use.

| Well it is Easter and we played like a box of creme eggs. If we are to be honest we have only played really well for about 3 games, but personally I wouln,t panic yet as we are capable of a lot more improvement.
As for the match itself Wigan played there usual structured game without any pressre put on them. I would like to see our completion sets in the second half it most have been around 30% with that amount of completion our game was going nowhere.
Lomax and Lance the only ones to come out of this game with a positive, I was told this morning Savallio and Wheeler are definitely playing against Widnes.
If we win at Widnes then we have won 90% of our games without being at our full potential would we have expected that prior to the Superleague start.

I wouidbt say that. In fact I didn't see him most of the game.
Your pack did out muscle ours but that's the norm these days with the soft as *hit pack we've had for few years.

| The second half was the worry today. From the kick off Wigan went 60m in their first set when I was expecting us to come out really intense and stick it to them. It set the tone and we never got in to it after that.
Factors that may have proved the difference in the long run.
A) Our last three games have been Leeds (h) Giants and Cas away, all games that went down to the last minute to win.
Wigan have played Dragons and London at home and Dewsbury away. All games they won without breaking sweat.
Can't help feeling our tank was empty and it showed in second half.
B) I am also concerned that we have one or two individuals who don't appear to be able to deliver a consistent performance week to week. LMS and Turner are prime examples of this - you never know what you're going to get from them whereas Tommy Mak, Jones, Wello, Robes, Amor Soliola and a few others produce week in week out. That has got to be down to attitude and if LMS and Turner can't step up then they are not good enough for Saints. They were both poor in first half at Cas and others pulled them out of the mire.
I do feel the defeat may not do us any harm in the long run - it may serve to bring a few people back down to earth and get them to refocus for the coming week. COYS

| Maybe it's time to get some heart and passion into the forwards like Leeds at home and stick Walker, Saveilo, Thompson back in. Let them show the so called "big guns" what effort and heart is.
