how wane can defend that is shocking but he is his coach so feels he has to???
as for saying he is a good coach cos he won the league wire have played virtually the whole season in 2nd gear and if we beat wierdness today will have finished 1 point behind the team that bar against widnes has gone full throttle at the league.
we will see how good his coaching skills are when at the end of the season there is no

Pure gold. When wire win it finishing one point above Wigan last year you're the best team by far and the LLS proves it according to your fans.
Wigan do it the next year yet it doesn't prove we're the best team in the league?
I mean I know as RL we are kind of programmed to be hypocrites, but this is just too good
Difference is we're losing our 'Briers, Morley and Hodgson' but still have our best player.
But to be slightly less biased for a moment, McIlorum's challenge was stupid and if he gets a season ending ban I wouldn't argue at all, he'd deserve it for an idiotic challenge.

| Quote: RIGSBY "that was michael maguires team and coaching...when players start drifting away youll soon see how good bullfrog head is as a coach ...arrogant wayne in his playing days wasnt even a good player ..so how the likes of brett finch and pat richards can take coaching advice from a plonker like wayne who was useless as a player is beyond me...he was only given the job to save money bringing in an overseas coach...
You are incorrect a fair few times in this post.
It wasn't really Maguires team at all.
The only players he signed that are still in our squad are Lima and Finch (unless you want to count Hock).
Its not Maguires coaching that is the reason we finished top, Wane changed quite a few things when he came in.
And no we didn't get him to save money on an overseas coach. We got him cause he is Wigan through and through, and he showed himself deserving of a chance to coach us as his record coaching the 20's and when he stood in for Maguire was excellent.

Absolutely correct, we have won nothing since our last Challenge Cup victory in 2008 although have been to 4 grand finals and not finished outside the top 3 in our transitional period - not ba compared to some "bigger" clubs that had to cheat and break the salary cap to avoid relegation in their transitional phase

The fact that you've been struggling for form of late after peaking in the middle of the season proves what a great move it's been for Wane to get you chasing the hubcab...'"
I always like to read a post with a cogent argument. Have you got one?

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment, I'm pretty sure the argument that "you haven't won anything since your last trophy" could be equally applied to all teams?

hmm only if your blind lol I recall Sonny Nickle and he was a dirty sod (as was Shane Cooper and a number of others), never thought anything but that. Newton was a thug on the field and McIlorum needs to moderate his aggression or he wont be remembered for the fact he is a good player.

| Just been listening to BBC Radio Manchester and they played an interview from Friday night with Finch and he deserves some sort of punishment for what he came out with. Absolutely slated Child's decision and if this was football then he would be fined for his comments.
Stuart Fielden's comments on Sky weren't as bad, but were highly embarrassing.

Stu "glass jaw" Fielden made a show of himself all night. The way he reacted to being took off, his actions on the touch line and then a silly childish interview at the end made him look stupid!

| Quote: Northampton_Saint "Yes, you're absolutely right. Leeds are a terrible team who never contest big finals or anything after all, eh? They chase the top spot every season and throw everything they have into winning meaningless league games and are just too **** to win them or finish top despite all their best efforts. They weep into their pints every night at their accursedly low league position and winning at O/T is just no consolation to them at all in their agony, bless 'em.
Leeds have mastered the art of what modern SL is about - i.e. their being no point in bothering to turn up for pointless league games until August, and saving all their energy for the playoffs instead. You might still delight in the joy of actually winning [isomething[/i (no matter how unrecognised and denigrated a trophy it may be) after all those long, lonely years of mid-table obscurity and think that finishing top is a goal worth throwing everything you have at all season long. The successful clubs like us and Leeds however got bored with winning the hubcab years ago and direct our energies at the part of the season where it counts instead. The current Leeds side will be acclaimed in future generations as one of the greatest club sides of all time. So will Saints' teams of a few years ago. Your current team will merely go down in history as a footnote. So ner.'"
Nice mature ending there.
Hate to correct your tangent, but Leeds have little relevance as to who finishes top, as I originally said, and 2 consecutive fifth place finishes confirms that.
Now we're in the playoffs, it's a whole different matter, but I'm glad you got that off your chest.

| I don't that Micky Mac is a thug, he plays the game hard, plays aggressive and these types every now and then will cross the line every now and then.
We'd kill for a player with his aggression at the moment. We've had our fair share of dirty/tough players over the years with the likes of sonny Nickle, Vila, hooper, cooper etc but teams need these players.

Vila was dirty and dumb with it ,some of the penalties he gave away used to annoy the hell out of me.
