IMO its going to be touch to turn down what's on the table but he does want to stay at saint.'"
If I was his agent I would advise him to take a dead certainty rather than hold any loyalty to the club. If he waits till Nathan Brown but then does not get picked for a year his value will drop. He needs to do what is best for him and it's not like the Eastmond situation where he will have left the club hanging for a 2 year period whilst he messed us about.
I don't buy the big ego thing and I still think he could be a SL player, a new start maybe the best thing for him. Better for him to go elsewhere and get some decent cash and leave us wishing we had done better by him, than to let his value fall in the reserves and end up with fewer options and no way back at Saints.
He's a pro sportman and his professionalism needs to take a front seat, he would always be welcome back in 3 years if he was in high demand.
I have nothing personal against him and I think he is better than the absolute tosh that gets thrown at him, but at the moment he does not have the quality to get into the team and next year he may still be 3rd to a triangle of Ade, Makinson and Swift. Not really the place he wants to be in.
ps assuming it's an offer from a SL club.

His agent has advised him to stay for time being.

| Jamie Foster has talent that there is no question. I would seriously drop Francis Meli into the Reserves and put Foster on the left wing.....

What's Meli done wrong to justify that?

| Foster was a pretty simply kettle of fish.
He could kick goals from all over, which is a great asset for the team. Whilst he didn't offer anything remarkable with the ball he was solid. Last year he showed on many occasions the abilty to be solid under kicks and he'd finish most trys in the corner if there was space.
So we got a 90% goal kicker who wouldn't let you down by fluffing chances or making mistakes.
Then he started making mistakes. Atrocious ones. Until he can rectify that, he won't warrant a place in front of someone like Mlei who may also make mistakes, but can offer a lot with ball in hand to compensate - At least not while we have other players that can kick goals.

What mistakes is he making at this current time? He can't be making many, we've won something like 9 of our last 11 league games with only two defeats to Wigan.
Let's be honest, Jamie foster has cost us about 6 points this year with his problems in defence and under the high ball.
We can't drop a player now because he lost us two grand finals 3yrs ago!

The same ones he has always made. That he isn't more of a disaster is often down to Wello covering his back on the tryline.

I take it you weren't at the 2011 Grand Final then? He cost us two tries in that one alone, and we were in a winning position at the time too.
I can't wait to see the back of him.

I'm not a Meli fan but he's certainly better than foster. They both make mistakes but Meli offers more with the ball.

I disagree. Or at least I disagree based upon the majority of Foster's performances and the majority of Meli's performances over the last 18 months.

It don't matter about 18 month ago, that's history now, it's about the here and now.
