| Totally shocked by that. Certainly the worst Saints performance I can remember seeing. You even managed to make Bradford look half decent!
I would have thought you have way too much class not to turn it round pretty soon though...just hope it's not next week

Or a Noble, Long Partnership, Noble to run defence, Long to run attack. Although I'm not sure if they would get along.

Leave noble where he is, we need a tough well respected coach that will organise the team fast and I think DA is the man.
DA can keep the seat warm for brown but IMO the saints job is going to be a tough slog for next few years as the squad is a total mess.

| No one talking about sacking Royce has come back with a viable alternative available mid season.
The reality is we stick with him to see if he can turn things around. If he cant, he goes at the end of the season, and we bring in a replacement.
No need to panic. Its not like we can get relegated.

| Quote: Mugwump "There's simply no way McManus will tolerate three more losses, which is very possible. I can't see him swallowing two.'"
This is where McManus will be tested on how good a Chief Exec he is. It is a lot easier to run a club when your team is winning trophies and getting to finals. The real skill is when you get a bad run and the work you do behind the scenes supporting your Coach and his players so that [sizethey[/size can get things back on track and start winning games again.
In truth all you club is going through is a bad spell, all teams go though it and how McManus deals with this bad spell will shape the rest of your season. Sacking Royce Simmons is not the answer to your current difficulties & would further put back your return to the top 4 of Super League.

Wigan pitch looked good today.

| Quote: St pete "Welcome to the party. Most knew what a rubbish coach this fella was when he got the job.'"
Erm, I didn't say he was rubbish. I said he was prone to making mistakes at the moment.
For me the responsibility for our present demise rests largely with our senior players; for example - Puletua dropping the ball with the tryline ahead of him; Perry giving away penalties at crucial moments; Wilkin kicking hopelessly and really doing precious little else in attack; Meli being thoroughly lazy; the forwards generally leaving the backs to act like forwards, etc, etc. Only Wello stepped up tonight. He had a blinder of a game. Shamed all the other senior players.

Wello was best player on the pitch by a mile.

I'd pay Royce off, put Cunningham as coach and keep Purtill as assistant.

| Pay Royce off and give Purtill a go, at least till the end of the season. At the moment Purtill is only coaching in line with what Simmons says and I suppose not giving any input or ideas of his own.

For me, KP has to go as well. He should shoulder as much blame as Royce.
Let's start fresh, two new coaches with fresh new ideas.

| Quote: Mugwump "Really? And there was I thinking the loss of Sculthorpe, Long, Martyn, Cunningham, Graham etc. was to blame. Guess they weren't important after all.'"
I think you've missed what I was saying. I maybe should have thrown a rhetorical questin in there.
I think we're in agreement. I am saying that the Saints fans were blaming Potter when things went wrong and now a lot are blaming Royce and yet no one is blaming a team with a poorly structure spine that has been carried by James Graham for some years.
Saints, as in Paul Wellens, Michael Shenton, Francis Meli, Lance Hohaia, 7. Jonny Lomax, 8. Josh Perry, 11. Tony Puletua, 12. Jon Wilkin, 13. Chris Flannery, 14. Anthony Laffranchi, 15. Mark Flanagan, 16. Paul Clough, 17. Gary Wheeler, 18. Shaun Magennis, 19. Andrew Dixon, 20. Lee Gaskell, 21. Tom Makinson, 22. Jamie Foster, 24. Nathan Ashe etc, are not good enough.
Not so much Royce Simmons.
