Nope, Leon was defo back in training Wednesday and defo due to be on bench. The players had day off Thursday and something must have happened on the Thursday.

Can we not do this, THIS week?
This is the sort of stuff we can do on Sunday if we've lost. Leave the boys to focus ont task in'thand.

18821_1298880800.jpg
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.
Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.
Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666
0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".
Therefore ZERO.
| Why would we pick Leon Pryce in the 17 anyway?
Both him and Wheeler have been injured all year, but when fit Wheeler has offered MUCH more than Pryce and will be with us next year.

I agree all the way, sadly. Leon's been one of our best players for a long time but just hasn't been at the races (bar one try against a wilting Hudds) ever since he's returned for whatever reason. Sad way for him to bow out, but so long and thanks for all the fish to him for me.

| why would Pryce start to cause trouble in his last week at the club??!?!? he has been here for a number of years perfectly happily, then in the week before his last guaranteed chance at a Grand Final - he turns into a diva?
I for one, dont believe it.

TBH 1984saints is just speculating/making it up. Some people on here have deluded themselves into thinking Gary Wheeler (who has massive potential) is actually a world class standoff or centre when in reality he is a talented but unlucky young lad who has so far proved NOTHING. Leon Pryce has been great for Saints and is a PROVEN top class performer who is very versatile.
I have no idea why Royce hasn't picked him and there maybe very good reasons (at least I hope there is) , I'm pretty sure Brian McDermott will be a happy man knowing Leon wont be coming off the bench to cause him problems.

Simples init!
Because he hasn't made the cut and has lost a chance to go out in a blaze of glory.
Instead of thinking about the club/team/fans, he s more concerned about his last chance to shine on the biggest stage.
IMO if he was still going to be with the club, he would be in the 19, even if there were still question marks over his fitness/durability. The difference between his position and jammer is proven match fitness and proven attitude.

So now your having go at player who has been loyal and a great servant to the club based on the fact ONE poster on here thinks he may have been dropped for sulking?
Pete is in the know, if he comes back and says Pryce has been causing issues then maybe we have a right to have a pop at him

I don't think McDermott is so stupid as to write off our young halves quite so comprehensively. And I think Wheeler will be a total unknown to him (if indeed it is Wheeler on the bench).
Personally, I have no reason to doubt the validity of the reason given for Pryce not playing. No doubt our coach reflected on various things before making his decision. Pryce hasn't featured in the play offs and he wasn't exactly a matchwinner in the CC semi (and has had hardly any game time since then) so I would imagine Royce simply thought he wasn't match fit enough to play at a GF, especially having just had a tummy bug.
Doesn't anyone remember one of our losses to Leeds and a half fit Longy? I do. I don't want that again. We need the best possible chance to win and with a winning team, we have it.

I wouldnt suggest for second a coach would right anyone off, I do however suspect he is glad he isnt up against a player of PROVEN quality like Leon Pryce. Wheeler will be on the bench unless he's tripped and broke his leg on the pre game walkaround at OT. Armstrong offers nothing off the bench other than the ability to come on and be average

But the player of PROVEN quality by the name of Leon Pryce did nothing for us in the CC semi. And it's not like we were beaten in the forwards. He offered nothing extra at all. And since then how many games has he played exactly?
He has been a great player for us but he is not match fit.

And Wheeler is? Ask Leon and Wheeler to show there medal collections .. see who is more likely to step up in a big game. Armstrong is match fit I imagine because of his time at Leigh

I've no doubt Leeds fans, players and coach will be over the moon that pryce isn't in the 17. Fair enough he's not done anything this year due to injuries and maybe contract talks but I've no doubt Leon would give 100% if he played.
No doubt this selection could come back and bite Royce on the bum.

Past glories. Leave those to Wigan. We need talented players who are fit. Wheeler is fitter than Pryce. End of story really.
You haven't yet countered my reminder of Pryce's inability to inject anything of use into our game in the CC semi.
