As he's a kiwi, wouldn't he need a visa to play in Australia ?

It wasn't anything to do with waiting, the visa came through after the deadline for signing players in a season.

| Basil is in the Manchester Evening News almost saying Rangi has signed for Salford. There is a comment on how Basil believes him to be better than Long. I'm not sure about that to be honest.

it's plain for all to see that Saints are not prepared to invest in top players. Results speak for themselves. We are 8th in the table with no sign of going any higher. By signing two NRL players for next season the board seems to think that their troubles are over. We still desperately need a No.6 and one more quality prop before we can possibly challenge for honours. If we cannot afford top players then it's the duty of the chairman to make the financial position clear to the supporters.

| I am sure Wilkin will rip it up at 6 next season, in the 24 games Wheeler is out injured.

| If true and we've not got someone else tapped up already, the club is a joke.
Signing Chase could have catipulted us back up the table, particularly if we'd signed another decent forward.

| Given that Salford are going to have to pay a premium to tempt players away from their current clubs, the impact on the Cap of signing these players is going to be bigger.
Anyone else think Dr Carcrash plans a bit of a legal barney with the RFL/SL at some point in the near future...?
Then again, it remains to be seen if the RFL/SL can grow a pair when faced with a rich/powerful individual making a string of marquee signings that has everyone thinking "how the frig can they stay under the Cap with all those?"

I'm pretty sure the RFL would just roll over. They do whenever Wigan come to them with a proposal so they can fit another player in or given Sam Tomkins another few hundred thousand pounds (When he's off at the soonest possible oppportunity).

Salford have been miles under the cap this year so we have plenty to spend. Add to the fact that we will probably off load 10 players at the end of the season, 2 of those being our top earners. So why the hell can’t Salford sign a marque signing and surround him by 5-6 good players? Don’t think the RFL need balls to stand up to people like the Dr, I think people need to get there heads out of there ar$es and realise our game is struggling and needs people like him around to a) invest money and b) create some headlines and press coverage that the game needs. Just because he shakes the apple cart a bit and some of the so called bigger clubs and their fans get their noses out of joint, who cares! The more stronger teams in SL the better and the better the competition the more people will want to watch

| Just because Dr Kockrash has money to burn, Doesn't mean we will give in easily.
Rangi has not signed for Salford ! - Should things change, We will make it work for us. But he hasn't asked to go anywhere yet.

People telling me he's already agreed terms with Salford just between Cas and Salford for transfer fee now. Hope it's true, he'll be one of the biggest signings in Salford's recent history.

I don't think terms are going to be an issue, But he is happy at Cas - He told Daryl Powell he had advised his agent he wanted to stay at Cas, And nothing appears to have changed.
Steve Gill told our fans last week we hadn't received an offer for him (You cannot speak to him without our permission) - So unless a lot has changed, You can't have agreed terms - remember, Koucash was telling your fans when he came in he had already signed Chase, When he hadn't.
The fee would range between 250 and 400k - but we will not accept it unless he wants to go, And he has shown zero signs, In fact. Was very blunt after Wigan away to fans the other day in the pub, Saying he would never go to Salford.
I guess time will tell.
