| Sadly he has no grip on reality.
I watched both coaches being interviewed and the difference was immense. KC talking about how unfortunate things were and Robinson showing how tiny changes can make the difference in how a play turns out.
No plan at all - KC must take the whole blame for such a lame performance

| What chance did he have in putting a team together to compete with the Roosters? They are a team of stars...with a much bigger salary cap, they don't have to shop from the 'Oops' shelf like we do.
It was a shambolic performance, too many mistakes, poor composure but we have to get behind the lads because Cunningham isn't going anywhere. He's been given a long contract to try and build something. For whatever reason, but by looks of it, a lack of dosh, means that he's brought in a load of young lads like Owens and Fages to compliment the young lads who have come through the youth ranks like Savelio, Swift, Makinson, Lomax (when he comes back), Percival, Thompson, Greenwood, Richards & co.
Don't get me wrong, I hate seeing us like this but this is a longterm project, and no doubt there will be a few more drubbings here and there but slating the likes of Owens after a handful of games will shatter the lads confidence.

How do we lack money? Supposedly the new ground was going to fix that and we're apparently spending the full cap? I have major doubts about the young players as well, you cannot build a successful side without a few world class players to hold that unit together. Warrington and Hull have both shown you can sign players, it's not difficult.

I've no idea mate, but we are still struggling to make a profit as a club. I believe that is reflected in our spending and recruitment. I agree, you can't just have a team full of kids with a couple of top players trying to hold it together but unfortunately that's what's happening. We've done that for a number of seasons now under a few different coaches. Cunningham's not got the same luxuries that the likes of Millward and Anderson enjoyed.
I'm amazed we don't get other big events booked at that stadium. Even Leigh had Elton John on for Christ sake. The club can't just rely on rugby league and the odd under 21 footy game. Get Martin Murray on, some pop star or something. I dunno. It's late, I'm off to bed.

And whst about last week ? Nobody gave Salford a change against a team one of tbe favourites to win cups and team full of stars.
No excuse at all. The to roosters aren't full of stars like in the past, they hadn't played one single game this year, they flew 12,000 miles to play the game and played in conditions they ain't used to.
We are so boring it's unreal. One up rugby all the time. We even use our wingers and centres as props these days. We are poor in defence and shocking in attack.

Any one of those Roosters players would be an excellent acquisition for any SL side mate. Can't argue with any of that though. I hate seeing us like this. However if we go back a couple of weeks, we turned Huddersfield over comfortably and things looked positive. I think we're going to be frustratingly inconsistent for a couple of seasons at least.

| I had not seen the game on TV, so did not want to comment.
I thought KC spoke well, he is not there to give impartial commentary on the game.
He is there as the Saints coach and he is there to manage the team.
Last year he made a huge mistake in mine and most peoples opinion by speaking honestly about the team and individuals and picking them out on air rather than keeping it in the dressing room.
It's 2 games into the season and his job is to motivate the team for SL.
Also comparing a 60 second talk on the field to in depth analysis of 3 set plays by the opposing coach is ridiculous.
Of course trent robinson spoke more eloquently, he was treated in a completely different fashion. The only way to compare them is to give them equal treatment.
Personally I'd rather Cunningham come out with positives on TV and keep professional, rather than just shooting his mouth off about player who under-performed and maybe low on confidence after a second bruising defeat.
To me it was a lesson learned and showed he is developing more as a coach, of course if he had come out and lambasted certain players of course the internet crowd would be equally critical of him for not protecting his players and acting as fan rather than a coach.
In the actual 10 seconds of his analysis he concentrated on the middles who did their job, which I thought they did and others on here have stated the same. As opposed to saying the backs lacked attacking threat he credited the Roosters for having excellent backs.
You can go one of two ways be positive of be negative, I would rather he took the positive approach than just put down players who will already be feeling down after a heavy defeat and will be getting it in the neck from 'fans' on the internet.

| Brian Mac not happy with performance and said the score reflected the game.
Shaun Wane said wasn't happy with the score and super league miles behind nrl.
KC said he was proud of his players and things didn't go our way.
I know which two are telling the truth and being honest with themselves.

| Well, out of the 3 embarrassing games for Super League, Saints margin of defeat was less than Wigan and Leeds. It's nothing to be proud of getting battered 'the least' but it's a fact.
Nobody is calling for Wane or Mac to be sacked.
When I came on this board after the Huddersfield win, I didn't see anyone calling for KC to be sacked. And I know the rugby's boring. It was boring last season. I'll argue that it was boring under Brown, even when we won the league it was boring but effective rugby against adversity. We haven't been great to watch for years, it's not just something that's happened under KC. He's simply inherited it and it's not an overnight fix, we can't just go out and blow a load of money on a Newlove or Sculthorpe anymore. He can only use what he's being given so quite clearly by looking at the recruitment, it's for the future...it's to grow a team.

Exactly. KC is not there to tell the truth, he is there to manage St Helens. He can tell the players what he likes away from the camera but for everyone he is proud and thought it could have gone differently.

I don't mind him trying to take positives from the game but he was just clearly wrong
