Wello and sia was due to be rested against Widnes and both held their hand up to play as we was down on numbers.

I agree, I'm not his biggest fan but given Wheeler seems to be the squad leper and Charnock is allegedly not ready he seems the obvious choice to play at 6. Wilkin should be emergency cover only , not picked ahead of players far more suited to the halfback role.

Wheeler to busy doing his day job to play rugby. He's the best burger flipper in the north west

You've confirmed what I thought might have happened with Wellens and Soliola. If any players would have volunteered to play it would have been these two. Sia is in need of a well earned rest.

| Amor is a blow, but I'm not gonna cry into my pillow until I know the full extent - if we can get away with 4-6 weeks, it's not the end of the world, especially with laffranchi being back in a few weeks. If we could get ghostmont onto the pitch, even better still. My greatest worry about turners injury is him not being able to play back into form ... But the kids should do a good job! Manu is simultaneously a huge loss and not a big deal.
On the 6 front: we have hohaia ... Who isn't a halfback no matter what anybody else tells me - wheeler who is never fit, and rumours that it's more than just bad luck - Wilkin who supposedly wants to play there, after doing nothing but whinge about him having to play there last year - and charnock whose played 1 super league game to date ...
That said, hohaia should still be first choice, but I'd of thought this would of been the perfect game to bring charnock through ...

What? You make out that they are heros, when in reality they are professional athletes just doing their normal job. Wello in particular has no right to have a rest, he's had plenty of rest coming on for 12 minutes at the end of games.

If you don't give him a run, you'll never know. Wigan are currently giving Hampshire a run out, but only after they've tried Tierney and Russell before him.
6 isn't exactly our strength, so playing Charnock there is not going to be the difference between victory and defeat against London.

Isn't Charnock in his 3rd and last year at U19's? If he's not ready now to play against a team with no wins, will he ever be?
Surely this is the type of game he should be given a chance in.

Exactly. He's reported to be pretty good, he's reported to be quite physically ribustfor a back and he looks like a decent lump.
I'm not saying I expect him rip it up, maybe he won't even succeed at saints, but seriously - how bad could he be?

| Brown doesn't seem to fancy Charnock. He's clearly not scared of throwing loads of young lads in yet he'd rather play senior players out of position before Charnock. I hope I'm wrong but if we're waiting for the next exciting young half back to come through the youth ranks into the 1st team, we'll have to wait for the generation after Charnock.

Rob Fairclough who plays at #7 in the Saints U16's side looks a very promising young player.

Did he support Wigan as a lad, (this is far more important)

Not think one of Fairhurst, Hewitt or Morgan Knowles will make the step up?
