| I've started some silly threads in my time, but this is up there.
Wigan have also done exactly what Warrington did, they rested half their team and lost to Widnes and did the same and lost to Bradford.

Well I'd rather have them than London

| I don't see how the pies apparently deserve to win it when both Leeds and Wire have belittled them, two teams that we have beaten on their own ground.

I won't be doing that. But I will be booking you in for psychiatric treatment and I will also be getting myself some tablets as I'm feeling distinctly after reading your post, which I did think was more than a little

| I feel unclean after reading this.
Every team knows what needs to be done at the start of the season. Winning every game isn't necessary and leeds proved that last year, as did wigan by not playing a squad and running out of has before the end of the season. The smartest coaches at the smartest teams will get their side up for the run in, as McDermott did last year. The dumb ones will burn out and lose. That's the game, live with it

| Whilst I can see where the OP is coming from and agree that the best team over 27 rounds deserve to be champions, did we see any Wigan fans willing us to be champions as we topped the league in 2005, 2007 & 2008?
The fact that a team could win less games than they lose and be crowned champions is an absolute joke and the system needs to be looked at but everybody knows the playing field before the season kicks off. Regardless of where we finish in the table, if we can get to OT and win on GF night then I wont be giving any sympathy to Wigan as they havent been good enough when it mattered. As harsh as it may seem, its happened to us on far too many occasions for me to care if it happened to somebody else.
Does that mean that the OP felt sorry for Wigan last year because they finished above us, yet we beat them twice in the playoffs and dumped them out to get back to OT? Again, I know I certainly didnt!!

These opening few words should be enough to prevent you ever saying what you have done in the title of this thread.
People like you really do make me want to vomit. All this politically correct, "for the good of the game" nonsense really does wind me up.
It is very very simple, a Saints fan of 27 years SHOULD hate Wigan and never want them to win a trophy, regardless of the moral implications that you refer to.
So what happens if it is a Saints v Wigan Grand Final? Would you be hoping Wigan win it, for the good of the game?? Of it is was Wigan v Catalans for example, you would still rather Wigan win it?? And to think you actually class yourself as a Saints fan!! Disgusting.

| I'd shout for a dictators select 13 before I'd shout for Wigan. The idea of supporting Wigan or wanting them to win makes me feel physically sick
In the world club challenge I normally support the English team ... apart from when Wigan play

| We'll be bowing out of the play offs in week 2 unless our form picks up soon.
We were as poor tonight in beating Salford 38-6 as we were in getting thumped at Wire last week. It says a lot about the state of superleague as a whole tbh.

| I can perfectly understand where the OP is coming from and without getting into a broader discussion about the
play off system versus FPTP system etc.
However..... whether we agree with the present play off system or not (which I personally don't) the idea of wanting Wigan to win the SL regardless of how they have done it makes me feels
I would rather support an Al Qaeda 13 than the Pie Eaters.

The game will end up being run by a few top clubs, how about an eight team Super? League which will have even less interest to major sponsors than now! and in the end may end up back semi pro, not sure if Sky would have interest in such a minor interest game any longer. I have been in rugby league since I was a kid but you know it would not really concern me if this is what happened as thousands of others I have very little interest any longer, so many think it is "The Greatest Game" still, which is a Joke.

Do you mean the Super League myth? Only four different winners in the past 16 years, and only five different finalists.
