I didn't see the game yesterday but just watched the replay. It was the worst I've seen in a long time. He'll get 3 games but it won't be a ban really due to his injury.

In what? The break was made, in open play with many meters to prepare. There was very little step and yet Meli threw the arm, at head hight and even managed a bit of a jump to swing his forearm right into the opposing players jaw.

Clumsy would have been a last minute instinctive attempt, not a hint of that in what was on TV.

Because the schmuck got himself injured through his own foul play so he'll be out injured for the duration of any ban implemented (if his injury is as bad as feared) and as such a ban will be pointless. Make the ban effective by banning him when he's fit to play.........silly!

And how can you totally justify any injury? Any player/club can fake injuries that the medical people can't be 100% sure on, like back Inuries.

I wouldnt even respond - half the clowns on here screaming for a ban are just trolls and the ones that arnt have probably never pulled on a shirt so have no idea how easy it is to make a clumsy tackle or just stick your arm out. It looks far worse because Meli is so damned big and strong

He caught him high, it was not deliberate but was a bad one. Nobody can complain, it was 100% sending off and deserves at least 4 match ban.

Totally agree. I think people struggle with understanding the difference between dirty and clumsy which is odd as it's clear to me e.g. Terry Newton attacking Sean Long was just plain dirty as he intended to hurt him.
