He might turn out to be brill and good luck to him, but it's far too early to be making those sort of comparisons.

dear god.. jammer is an exceptional player, and the best prop in the country at the moment, but to say comments like "it's a good job there's no relegation" and "it could be years of the late 90s" are laughable..

Jammer is a home bird!! He certainly wont be moving to Australia. Not even a quote on the whole of the WWW!

It would be a good move for him, bad for us seeing as there are few good props available. However, he is going to leave at some point, I can't see many players being one club men any more and I think I'd prefer him to go to Aus rather than one of our rivals.

However, as good as he is, we've lost better players and survived, this won't be any different.

scully joynt perelini and fairleigh

Scully certainly wasn't at that level by the time he left. We lost him in installments.

Joynt retired and again wasn't all that hot when he retired. Perelini was a fine player but again we'd had the best of him. Fairleigh and Lyon were outstanding overseas players, but you never keep those players for long anyway.

I certainly don't remember us losing a player at 24 that will hurt us like this will. The closest I can think of is Connolly but he was hardly essential.
