| Quote: Saint Simon "Problem being that 3 of those props are converted backrowers.'" It was never a problem fro Peacock or Morley. Clough and TP are every inch a prop, the only one I had my doubts about at the beginning was the new signing Laffranchi, who's actually faring very favourably in the stats.
I liked Perry when he played last year and was encouraged by a very impressive performace against widnes, but he's the only one of our 5 props to be averagin less than 7 metres per carry.
I wouldn't like to see Andrew Dixon miss out, considering how much threat he's brough out wide.

I remeber when he started playing 1st team, he picked up a grubber in goal and stepped/skinned a coupl eof chaser to get back into the field. After that, he seemed to revert to a hardworking robot, but the angles he's picked this year have been very refreshing.
Even if he's not breaking through, if the defence are weary of his threat, it'll open up space for the centre outside him.

| I'm assuming Pete is talking from a position of knowledge here not guess work.
If that's the case then it's a surprise to see Meli out, but one way of looking at that team is that it's a very defensive line up. Dixon has impressed me going forwards but I'll be honest not taken much notice of his defence compared to flannery. Flannery's howls were with ball in hand so I guess, maybe I've only seen half a game.
With Wellens starting at FB, I'm guessing that's defensive cover with Lance to bring spark in attack.
wheeler at centre for defensive cover to stop Meli letting them through. To be honest it may not be my ideal line up, but with Wheeler over Meli, it's what we have been calling for so it's put up or shut up for Wheeler tonight, if he gets the nod, then he has to show he's worth the loss of meli's strike close to the line.
It's probably our most creative attacking side, with 4 half backs who can all play tonight. So lets hope we are all right and Wheeler is the new great white hope at centre we all hope he is.
No pressure lad....

I am a bit confused with this comment. If we are going to be using the same tactics as we have so far this season, then why are you suggesting we will play with 2 backrowers and just 1 prop on the bench?
Surely if we were to continue with the same tactics then Flannery or Flanagan will start with TP on the bench??

I think St Pete is talking about tactics on the pitch, not personnel to carry out instructions.

But in the 17 he has named, he has put Flannery and Flanagan both on the bench and seeing as so far this seaosn we have gone with 2 props and a backrower on the bench, I can't see tonight being any different.

Based on Dixon's attitude so far my guess would be that he will see it as a challenge to relish.

According to Pete he ain't playing so no challenge at all. Unless there is a last minute injury. Not going to make it too night. So Good luck and have a fun night all.

I don't see it as Dixon being dropped, just the squad being rotated as Royce has said he would. I have no problems with that at all.
