| Although most cheered when Eastmond went down, as the majority of all fans do when an opposition 'star' player looks to be injured, almost every Barrow fan applauded when he got up and left the field.
As for the comment about the Barrow fans - "the only thing they did was cheer every tackle they made", well that made me laugh. That's called SUPPORT. And I'm 100% positive it was just what the players wanted to hear along with the 'Barrow' chant for 80 minutes.
Less than 3,000 Saints fans there today. There's no excuse for such poor support - especially when you have a superb team to follow every week. You just don't know how good you've got it.

Cheering every tackle would be very patronising, it was almost as if the Barrow fans didn't expect them to make a single tackle, it made me and quite a few other Saints laugh anyway. I admitted your support was good, but it was your cup final it should have been! There was a fair few stood in the popular side, and most of them were fine, in-fact a lot were embarrassed by the few idiots near me that were shouting and swearing all game, well the one particular bloke that was much worse than the others.

| Getting behind your team when defending is just as important as when they are in possesion, not patronising, what a stupid comment! Most Barrow fans found it quite amusing how little backing you Saints fans gave your team, do you only make noise when the Sky camera's are in town?

Both times I seem to remember the cheering being defended on here.'"
Not by me, anyway. I think it's sick to cheer when a player gets injured. I was cringing with embarrassment at our fans' reaction to Newton's concussion.

Nope. We don't do it then, either. We only turn up in numbers for Wire, Wigan and Leeds. And then we spend most of the time shouting 'forward' and hoping for some good biff.

I thought it was pretty amusing, almost slapstick the way he went down, and he wasn't seriously injured and was clapped once he'd received treatment. All credit to the lad though, had this been football he'd never have attempted to rejoin the defensive line.
I don't cheer players going down, and I do clap them if they are taken off the pitch, but all groups of fans have done this kind of thing so I don't see the point of playing the holier than thou card when someone does it to one of ours.

Challenge cup Quarter finals for Saint's are as regular as winter, that along with the fact most of them probably thought they would win anyway and decided to save there money.
it was a big occastion for you guys which is why you took so many, the same as it was for us when we took over 1,000 to Cas last year, for us playing super league teams in a competitive game are rare which is why we go to games like that in big numbers

| let's be honest here...a lot of our speccies would have thought...oh it's only barrow we are playing...(we always seem to struggle against the lower teams for some reason)...so it probally was a toss up whether to pay a good few quid to go and watch saints or watch the rhino's and pies fighting it out on the box...that is probally one of the reasons for our low turnout.
well played to barrow because this game was like their wembley for them.

Yes pathetic behaviour ,all sts fans are angels?you should take off your your red and white tinted glasses.I shall have a look through past posts and hope to see your complaints against your own fans.

| well i think we are all agreed that yes most fans do cheer or clap when an opposition player is apparently injured, however nobody wants it tobe aserious injury, NOBODY wants to see a bad injurry (unless they are a real numpty) however the thing that made me laugh during the injury was the Barrow fan in the stand , the one who got ejected, screaming , literaly screaming at Kyle to get up,, or the physio to get him off the fireld because he was "time wasting?" , he screamed that more than once , as the poor lad was obviously in agony right in front of him, shortly after that he was abusing the fans below him and was ejected

| Okay, we couldnt get any complex chants going because of the number of people who it was their first away game, so yeah, we cheared, and yeah we sang "barrow barrow"
We had a good time, and no it is not patronising, its i getting behind the lads.
And If eastmonds injury was serius, ie on a strecher etc . then we would shut up and clap, but we still clapped his twisted ankle of the pitch.

Maybe i was being a little harsh, but theres getting behind the team, singing, and then theres cheering every single tackle you make in the first 20 minutes, it was as if you were shocked that your team were able to make a single tackle. It was your cup final (and thats no disrespect to Barrow), so i suppose it was expected.
It can be serious without needing a stretcher, that should be irrelevant. Its not the fact that fans cheer when a player goes down injured that does my head in, its when they know its a serious injury and they jump up and down shouting 'Get In', like a few Barrow fans did at the side of me.
