Actually, the idea of having standing in the corners was also referred to at the meeting I went to just before the planning application went before the North West quango thingy, so it maybe an idea that is still being considered. The panel did say that they had been listening to the fans on this point because it appears that a lot of fans want some standing area and not just another all-seater. But I suppose the club have to balance the rugby league with other possible fundraising potential where seats would be crucial.

I would prefer all seater. I currently stand, but all seaters look better IMO

Better to give people the choice. Its the safe and sensible option.
As time goes by the standing fundamentalists will grow old, weak and die. The new breed of fan will in the main have no qualms about sitting down, (as they will have in all probability have been introduced to the game via the seats). When that time occurs then the terraces can be converted.

I would agree with the first part. The small number of Saints fans that insist on standing will be given the choice of standing on an end or sitting on the side. Given this choice most will eventually choose the seat as there tends to be a very small difference between sitting on the side or the end in terms of price. Hopefully the people that do stay standing on the end will be the beer drinking singing types so the stadium will gain a bit of atmosphere.
I doubt the stadium would become all seater any time soon as they will want to stuff as many away fans in the end at 22 quid a go.

Could be a viable option for our new stadium. Give our new stadium an authentic 1980's terrace feel for those standing fundamentalists
On non match days the police could rent it out.

| What happened to the plans that could be viewed in the town hall? They had standing in the corners?

No they never.
Standing was behind goal
Only time there was standing at the corners was the howard morris era when there ws an exhibition at United Glass, this was around year 2001

Hahahaha thats perfect for us, as no travellign support come to KR anyways, this is perfect for the 2 catalans, the 1 landarn fan, the 11 wakey fans, the 12 dulls fans and so on... might be a tight squeeze when Leeds bring over there huge 25+ strong support though.

| At Leighs ground they have 3 seating stands and one standing and thats for the home fans and its behind the goals. Seems to work well, we just need to get fans to sit on the chairs.......

Standing in the corners was the idea of the previous boards attempt circa 1999, it was always pie in the sky in my opinion.
