He wasn't one of the best at all and many wire fans said to me at the pub after as soon as I walked in after I got back that he was awful.

| I love Kyle. Really talented kid and if he leaves, he goes with my blessing on to bigger and more lucrative things. He cannot be vilified for that in this day and age.
It's not like he's doing a Connolly and moving to another club. If we got rid tomorrow as was apparently suggested on Sky Sports tonight, I hope he leaves on terms that would enable him to 'do a Lee Smith' if he doesn't find Bath to his liking. He's unquestionably the most talented player we've brought through in decades.

I was in the North Stand and no one was calling him names there although everyone was grumbling about him. He's definately lost the fans and most just want him to go ASAP.
Quote Saddened! Some of the fans behaviour tonight was appalling. Why continue the Monaghan stuff when he's winning 24-0? It makes you look very silly. And shouting abuse at Kyle is pathetic as well. He is not from St Helens and hasn't done anything wrong. He's considering an offer for more money. If a company offered me more money I know what I would do'" '"
I'm sorry, you must have been at a different game to me. The wire fans were the ones making all the woof woof noises every time he got the ball or came near their end - all intended as a sign of affection I think. The North stand was estremely quiet from the start to the end.
Do you have directional problems with your hearing?

No I don't. The North stand was 100% silent all night. It's the yobs behind the sticks to the left in Saints shirts I was on about. At 24-0 they were giving him the kitchen sink about his canine antics, as well as ripping Kyle. Kyle could clearly be seen turning his head towards the fans in reaction to something shouted at him. That was why he didn't thank the fans, he was getting plenty of stick from an ugly, balding man near the front of the stand every time he went down that end.

There were some woof woof noises from the East stand but I was on the halfway line (well not literally) and the Wire fans in the West stand were a lot lot more abusive generally and were woof woofing at monaghan all night.

Brian, running at gaps and space that skilful halves put you in makes the game easy. Running straight at brick walls isn't quite so. Simple as that.

| Quote Cinco estrellas="Cinco estrellas"Must be a massive parallel here with how the Wigan fans felt about Ashton. IMO, Saints should get rid of him now. This is not because he is not talented, it is because he clearly does not care. That is a crime in Proffessional Sport.
We lacked ideas at the back end of last season without either half back playing, we are lacking ideas now with the "wantaway" playing. Hells Bells, how much do we miss Leon and KC?'"
We were only irritated with Ashton because he posed with a Northants shirt whilst under contract with Wigan.
His importance to the team at that point was minimal, just another talented (if flawed) youngster breaking through.

JM said before the start of the season that he he's got a sense of humour and expects the mickey taking, so we thought we'd join in. We were woofing at him every time he got the ball..... still laughing about it now. Wires JM song has got to be the funniest in SL......

| To be fair to Eastmond, he was playing behind a well beaten pack last night - but he definitely doesn't look the same player for Saints. The attitude he showed when Gardner dropped the ball was shocking - no need for that at all.
Now, if the rumours about Graham are true, then that's a lot more to be worried about. Despite being on the losing team, he was one of the players giving it all to the end - and he took some massive hits for it. He'll be missed miles more than Eastmond for you guys, IMO.

| I've tried to defend kyle, stick by him and keep the faith since this whole thing about him leaving started. But I cant do that after last night, he's clearly off and not bothered anymore.
