| So we've gone from certain relegation to only finishing below Saints in less than 5 posts.
Stuff all this Wakey Saints rubbish, the thing that would worry me is not what Wakey are doing but what's gonna turn around Saints.
If they don't start pullin up a few trees, I can see Cunningham gone by the end of March.
They've got Hull and Cats away and Wire at home for their next 3 games, so they could be in some right sh11e by the back end, there's no Wakey or HKR to be obnoxiously arrogant about, this month is defining for the current status quo at St Helens.
ps, I broke my ankle on the crumbling terraces of Knowsley rd, and that wasn't very long ago at all, Belle Vue is nothin like the sh11hole that was.

Mate, I didn't go as couldn't. I've not watched it back on sky apart from post match. I swear on my kids lives I'm not bothered one little bit. It's one game, still lots of rugby to play.
It's pretty funny how giddy some fans get from one win. I bet Salford forum are predicting they will win super league. Give it few month and we will see where we all at.
I don't think saints will make top 4

That's why we did something about the dump we used to have.

| Saints weren't very good at all but only in attack and defence, ball handing and kicking. Wakey weren't brilliant but they looked keener in the first half which got them a lead. Second half Saints (again) left themselves too much to do and Wakey won by being the better team.
Also not sure you can compare this result with the sixty plus against the pie gobblers. They played well that day admittedly against lesser opposition. Here they've beaten a good side that couldn't perform.
About Cunningham: I haven't really complained about his tactics or how the players implement what he wants but we are certainly not playing with flair and if his philosophy is to be controlled and tight and defensive, we can't do that either. Am keen to discover what his style is....

From an away fan who attended your ground this year, I have to say it is a dumb, appalling toilets, no cover for away fans and poor views, easily the worst in SL.

What a strange turn of events, from a thread about Wakefield Trinity's victory over Saint Helens to a post from a Hull fan stating the obvious about Belle Vue.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

Accepted. Yet apart from everything the club has tried for say the last 30 years to rectify the situation what do you expect Wakey to do about it? (We don't have a money bags McManus or a council like Hull to help us with a stadium.)

From an away fan who attended your old ground for a number of years I can how qualified you are to form an opinion on Bellevue.
Maybe one day we'll be as lucky as Hull sharks and get to use a new stadium all be it playing second fiddle to a second rate premier league team, even when they get relegated this season they'll still be the number 1 club, still I suppose it's more comforting and enjoyable than playing in a dumb like ours

| Quote: Sweaty Betty's "The so called 'top clubs' will still win all the trophies this year. The level of the competition is deteriorating year on year as the game is being stifled by small mindedness. I would dearly love the standard of the game to improve so that all teams are equal and playing at a higher standard (like the NRL) but sadly RL in this country is looking into the abyss.'"
Neutral opinion here.
It was good close contest on soft ground, so not the best surface for sparkling rugby. But it was a great game to watch, as a neutral there's no dissecting of your own team errors, you just enjoy the closeness of the battle and enjoy every inch made.
On the night Trinity had more guts,o and that's also a big part of Rugby league. On the night there was little between the sides but even so a winner was thrown up and they fully deserved it as the unfancied away side at the once mighty Saints.
Don't underestimate Wakefield Trinity, we played them first game of season at Belle Vue and they were unlucky not to win that one too. Wakefield deserve respect for what they are doing, The salary cap is making games a level playing field which I think is great for our game, AND our SL sides beat the Mighty NRL sides to boot so I certainly don't see a gap at club level.
For Saints, you'll create a Langtree legacy by getting down there and supporting. I really love all that Saints stand for in Rugby as do most outside Wigan and Wire. But there are no guarantees in Sport, champion sides can and do fail, just ask the Bulls, Parramatta, Leeds etc , and lest we forget...Trinity.
There is no financial hiding place with this Sal Cap format, and good structured coaches like Powell, Radford, can really make the difference. Throw in some real guts and anyone can win these days. Including Saints. But a bit of respect in defeat doesn't cost anything, and is much more like the Saints that I respect. Good Luck, I'm sure you'll be there at the shake up.

As an away fan who has visited Hull many times, I feel much safer visiting wakefield than I do hull, which is paramount given I take my daughter to away games. I was actually surprised that travelwiki doesnt have safety announcements for visiting Hull. For my next trip, ive put a tender out to local security firms to see how much they would charge to accompany me and my family.
Regards
King James

Dear King James,
As a Hullensian born and bred, I can honestly say, that from my first visit to The Boulevard in 1964, up to the present day at the KCom Stadium, I have never seen any trouble between FC fans and any other team.
That of course doesn't include the odd minor skirmish with the red and white hordes of a KR orientation, or when one ventures into bandit country East of the River Hull. (but everyone has noisy neighbours)
Furthermore King James, if History serves you well you will know that another King, no less than King Charles I, also felt a tad unsafe when, under duress, he visited the walled city of Kingston upon Hull in 1642. Like you, he also arrived with security, but alas it was to no avail and he walked away empty handed, without the booty he had set his heart upon. and without that booty he then lost a War and in 1649 he lost his throne, and sadly his tête.
Of course King James, these days we are famously cultured and friendly mortals, who have only your goodwill and safe passage at heart. ....and 2 points of course. But please "Come to Hull" !! we will welcome you and everyone with open arms, a cup of tea, come early and we will provide you with a free tour of our amazing City of Culture. (nb. this will not include any sites of historic interest East of the river)

It's a shame, if you're not just after a bit rise, that you think that of Hull.
Pre-match try popping into a pub called Park View, most know it as Brickies, it's friendly and not quite as busy as the others. We may be able to change your mind, I'll even buy you and your daughter a drink.
