| Quote: SaintsFan "Our six and seven were Wilkin and Hohaia in 2012 weren't they? Gaskell was dropped once Simmons left, bar I think two matches. Much as they were last year and quite often this year as well!
Our wingers? Tommy Makinson played much of 2012 because Gardner was injured. Sadly we did still have Meli, although Simmons wisely moved him to centre, a decision Cunningham/Rush foolishly reversed.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Gardner back on the wing if Cunningham does get the job on Monday.
The answer to your first question is no. In 2012, our 6 and 7 where Hohaia and Lomax. So you got that one wrong!!!
Our wingers where Meli and Gardner initially. As the season went on Makinson came in and played well so kept his place in the side.
We had Wello at FB and our starting props where Laffranchi and Perry. We had Clough, Flannery and Puletua playing too.
Compare that with Amor and Walmsley as starting props. A quick and exciting back 3 of Lomax, Makinson and Swift. A half-back combo of Burns and Walsh (two actual half-backs). The potential of Percival. The youth and energy of the likes of Thompson, Richards and Greenwood (to name just three).
The side has been transformed from 2012. KC (if he does get the job) has a different team to coach.

Funny how Brown was let go a year before his contract was up.'"
He requested release which was granted.
Sia also had a year left on his deal and went a year early. Does that make him a bad player?

He requested permission to apply for the Wests job which was given and then the club 'willingly agreed' an early release 'regardless'. Fans have just swallowed it whole without question. How often do coaches receive such grace a year ahead of their contract being completed?

We've known all season about that. And there is nothing unusual in a player seeking an early return. Usually it's homesickness that gets them.

I knew in July that Brown wanted to go home and I also know the real family issues to why he's gone home. The wests job fell at the right time for him.
Brown will be remembered for laying the foundations of a good quality squad abd doing the double.
Royce will be remembered for his woeful recruitment, shocking team selections, only having 3 players on the bench, winning nothing and getting sacked.

I didnt. I asked 'weren't they?' Did you notice the question mark at the end? That means a question.

Indeed. Good job all those contracts came to an end when they did and that the chairman finally agreed to money being available for new players! But then we'd built the stadium by 2012 so the club's attention and resources could finally be refocused on to the pitch by 2013.

So you say but to me you're just a name on an internet forum!

If you say so. Me and many other fans will remember him for 42 point drubbings and being very fortunate to have been around when the club started spending money on players again.

What recruitment? He wasn't allowed to recruit anyone. He signed Flanagan (thanks for your efforts in the GF at 7 Flanno!) and Hohaia (thanks for your efforts in getting us to the GF Lance!) but other than that he had to rely on young players. He asked for props and was told no. The club was focusing on funding the stadium at the time.
I don't remember shocking team selections. That's been a Brown speciality.
I'm glad Brown has gone. Our performances in 2013 persuaded me not to bother renewing my season ticket for 2014. Now that he's gone I may consider getting another season ticket for 2015 but I may wait and see how the new coach pans out, especially if it is Cunningham who IMO is very inexperienced to become head coach.

I PM people on here about Brown going my little flower
Royce brought in a Backrow to replace jammer which was a complete and utter disaster of a signing. He brought in a fullback to play 6 and he's only just got to grips with playing 6 this year under Brown. I said at the time that Royce will set us back years and he did.

No! Most fans wont remember individual games from this season. What they will remember is finishing top of the league and winning the Grand Final against the Pies.

I'm a very loyal supporter since in spite of my reservations about Brown and not actually wanting him at the club in the first place - something I was open about on here and have been consistent about - I have gone to every home game and any away games that I have been able to afford in spite of long spells of unemployment during the last two years. So stuff your questioning of my loyalty up where the sun don't shine.
And no, winning the LLS didn't convince me. Jeez, when even Wello said that it was the first time he'd won it from his living room then that really doesn't convince anyone does it! Yes, we won it. Thank you Tigers.
I was convinced in the Grand Final that I had been right all along: that our problems as a team stemmed from our attitude. Get our attitude right and we can be excellent, even without halfbacks. Again, I have consistently said that on here and I have taken stick for it from the likes of you. But it turned out I was right. While you might be happy in forgetting the previous two years of inconsistency, embarrassing performances and sometimes nutty selections, I cannot do so.
I'm happy he has taken himself back off to Australia. Phew! Hopefully Cunningham will be a step up but only time will tell.

I said to everyone the minute it was announced he was coming to Saints that he'd be gone soon enough. It was one of my reservations about him. Stated clearly on here. So it's not like you were telling people something they hadn't already assumed would happen! You're not as 'in the know' as you like to portray yourself, my little butt plug.

Which backrower did he bring in to replace Jammer? Who wore no.10 on his shirt in 2012?
Besides which I couldn't care less what Simmons did. You seem to have an obsession with him. You bring him up with boring repetition and predictability. He's been gone almost three years now. Get over it.

The well documented replacement for James Graham was Anthony Laffrinchi. Squad numbers has nothing to do with it at all.

I also had an issue with that.
I thought it stunk personally (probably a bit like a butt plug would after use) and knew then that regardless of the GF result, it was very poor timing and thought then he should just go regardless of getting the job or not.

The complete disaster of a signing laffranchi was brought in to play prop to replace Jammer.
