No one said that, when people suggested we had one of the best back 5 in the league it was a fair suggestion as they were in form. Notice how it says "one of" implying there is others. Don't twist peoples words.

I never for one minute thought we had the best backs in super league.
The back three have been pretty good to be fair.
Jonny lomax is massively important to our attack.
Tommy has been finishing as good as any winger in world rugby but isn't the best at beating a man and I'd certainly put hall, briscoe and charnley ahead of him.
Swift has come on massively this year. He's been great.
The pansy been woeful.
Percy injured all year.
Jones been good at centre but I don't know what position he is and I don't think saints know.
I ain't got clue who our stand off is.
Walsh is quality. Looks to good for this team and we rely on him far to much.

I prefer "pansy". That's the first thing I think when I see him play.
I've also renamed LMS The tin man from the wizard of oz (no heart)

| I see that a group of fans have now found their figure of hate to blame for the TEAMS failures.
Jordan Turner has now become the new scapegoat to replace Francis Meli.
When the side loses, its all his fault. We will ignore the mistakes of those we cherish, for they are beyond criticism.
Only one is to blame and that is JT.
People need to get over the loss to Wigan and Leeds, and accept that they are currently better sides than us.
There is no shame in that, its reality. People need to stop looking for scapegoats and excuses.
Prior to the season started it was commented on by fans of all teams that Leeds probably had the best one to five in SL and possibly the world. Their pack which has always been under rated ,possesses in Peacock one of the all time great prop forwards.
Wigan for whom many Saints fans are in denial over, did the double last year. That is a tremendous and rare achievement over the entire history of the game. A side like that doesn't just crumble overnight, even if its lost a few of its star players. They are winners, and as we as Saints fans are aware from our own glory years, sides of winners will fight very hard not to give up their title. They also have the advantage that Wigan as a town has more people playing RL than anywhere else in the country. This gives them a huge talent pool to draw upon. Its why their academy teams consistently win title after title, and means that even when they lose star players they still have quality to come in and replace them.

Turner is not a hate figure for me or a scapegoat. But I have to question, if you take the name away and keep the same performances and call his Foster, or Gardner or Dawson, would he be getting a rest????
I think he would. The issue with picking out of form players week after week is that the name alone is what they are getting picked on.
Turner has had weeks of poor form. He has put his hand up and said so himself. To me he is still talented, but needs to get his head on. Picking him week after week, just means good or bad he is in and someone else is out.
If he is dropped, he could easily work his way back into the team given a month or two. But call him foster and say whether he should play next week?

I don't hate Turner, I've no problem as a person but as a rugby player is frustrating. He IMO doesn't acquire the attitude and commitment to be a top centre.
He's basically a average winger playing in the centre.

But he's not a winger. I don't think he's ever played wing, and generally, before he moved to saints, played further infield.

Just looks like a winger to me.
I can't Believe we even tried him at 6! He was worse there. He'd do his run across and then that slo predictable drop off.
Some even called for him to play in the pack

| We've been spoilt for quality centres particularly during the summer era. Newlove, Iro, Gleeson, Lyon, Gibbs, Talau, Gidley etc who could create a bit of magic & turn a game on its head. I'm sorry but Jordan Turner's not in the same league as the players I've mentioned. And if some fans believe he is, then we really have settled for mediocrity.

When was the last time we had a quality centre?
Or
When was the last the we actually had two out and out proper centres?

Played most of his junior rugby at 13 - which explains why he struggles with positional sense now I suppose.
He don't look like a winger to me - he has the body shape and attributes to be a quality centre - and we saw the potential of that last year. But, recently, his flaws have been exposed and he's looked poor. That doesn't make him a winger.

| Turner is a proper centre, whether or not he is a good one is a matter of opinion. So yeah as MS said atm we have two at the moment.

You honestly think he can be a quality centre? Really?
Come on!
Maybe a average centre.
