| Well, Alex does have one brother-Liam- also a Batley player!
Suggest Saints offer LMS,Perry and Laffranchi in a swap deal?

| Well I'm glad I missed that game.
If I was being ruthless my list of outs this year would be
Perry, Lance, Wellens, Ade, Laffranchi (unless he is moved to 2nd row, his actual position), I have to say LMS.
When LMS came to Saints I was not expecting a world beater, but someone who would develop into a world beater. Well it's quite a few seasons on and he's pretty much the same as when he came to the club for me. He can turn it on, but it's far too inconsistent for a top side.
We need a 2nd hooker, if that's going to be Lance then fine, but for me he's on too much cash for a 2nd hooker.
Makinson from games prior to this one I would say can fill a role at FB, but he's a stand in for Lomax.
As for Meli, no idea about last night but from prior weeks he looks to be contract worthy.
Next year
1. Lomax/2. Makinson/3. Turner/4. Percival/5. Meli/6. New fella - no stand in's, not Lance /7. New fella
8 New Fella/9. Roby/10. Walmsley/11. Sia/12. Manu/13. Flanaghan
New 2nd Hooker/Laffranchi as 2nd rower/Clough
Wilkin (as his contract is so long it would be impossible to move)
Walker/Wheeler/If we can't get TP to stay or his body can't take it then another 2 props.
Then the rest of the youth set up

Two of the three LMS committed especially the last one could be interpreted the same professional foul!

No they couldn't! LMS didn't at any time hold anyone down. He was pinged for hands in at the tackle on each occasion. He should have been sin binned for the number of offences, yes, but he didn't commit any professional fouls.

You've just confirmed (not that it was required) that you are a clueless troll. Why do you hang around on the board of a team you used to support ?

Sad but true. Priority has to be a 6 & 7 though

Wow, this is a bit strong isn't it?
The guy has propped up a loss-making club in a small town in an unfashionable sport for years including delivering a new stadium. Do you presume there is a queue of oil Sheiks and Russian oligarchs waiting to take his place?

Not really. He said himself some years ago that he would leave when the stadium was delivered as the club would be self sufficient.
The club is in real danger of not being able to properly capitalise on the stadium asset by not having a competitive side. We should be looking at 14,000 crowds but they are already down to around 11,000 and it will only get worse the longer we are continuing to decline on the field.

Maybe he should get some of these "cashed up" board members to put their hands in their pockets and buy a halfback.
Wigan lost finch and lulu last season and lenaghan splashed the cash on green and smith, that's a ambition to well on the pitch .

| At the risk of turning this into another half-back thread, which scrum halfs could we have bought (money no object) in the last 2 years?

On TV though it looks really empty even with 11,000!

| I'm not of the mind of Saddened (not many are). The chairman deserves more respect than being told by a nobody to step down, after bankrolling all our losses.
But I would say that recruitment needs to have a good review. In the end no one knows who has the say over recruitment. But it needs reviewing as to the process over the last 5 years.
If someone came out and said, actually we have been opperating below cap and it was to save money. Then I think fans would adjust expectations. But with big name signings for wrong positions or positions not needed. That's the crux of the issue.
I still maintain that you throw our best pack out there, then tight games like last night would have a different result.
It's hard to stop every thread turning into a halfback thread as that is where recruitment and retention errors are majorly exposed. No other SL club opperates with a 2nd rower and fullback at half.
