£800,000 last year I think, they've made a profit for 10 years (or something similar), despite dropping down to the lower league for a year.

| So in summary (to answer the original question) ...
Saints made a sizeable loss in 2010, they probably made an horrific loss in 2011, and they will probably make break-even or a small profit in 2012.
I suppose the only ongoing unanswered part of that is how is the horrific losses of the Widnes year being carried over (financed). If it's covered by one of these backroom money men then all's good. If not then it has the potential of pulling Saints down in the fashion of Bradford.
And as for Wigan... they get an excellent deal on renting the DW stadium, probably a lot less than the overheads of owning a ground.

| With Wigan, we've just got to hope the FA change the rules on ground sharing. Wigan renting Leigh's ground would be far too funny.

i know then they would have to pay us to get us out the stadium probably enough to make sure we wont need a bank loan or lenagan borrowing money off friends to develop are own stadium. yeah i really hope they do as probably most wigan fans.
imgagine just how much money wigan would make then.

I wouldn't count your chickens. There are always get out clauses in lease agreements.

Not the 30-40 million minimum you'd need to build a new stadium, assuming you could even get the planning permission in the first place to build another stadium in Pieland that would then be competing directly for the limited events and corporate dosh available with a Premier League football club stadium.
Wigan lucked out with the JJB basically falling into their lap and are on a flipping good deal there at least for the immediate future. If you ever do get turfed out of there by Premier League machinations then you will be in big trouble... If I were a Pie, besides being upset at my suddenly reduced intellect and the added inconvenience of having an extra toe on each foot, I would be very, [ivery[/i worried indeed about what my stadium's landlords could do to me not too far down the line...

yeah i am sure your intellect is far greater than ian lenagan after all he would just leave hes investment (and the club he loves) on a whim and promise from dave wheelan not to kick us out. after all ian wouldn't have spent a fortune on lawyers who have more knowledge on leasing contracts than anybody on this board would he? classic cant compete with us on the field these days so now its move to academy results and new half finished stadium .
just out of curiousity how much did langtree park cost? i didnt really keep up with the stadium progress. there is plenty spare land and two facilities we could develop (al park and edge hall road stadium both wigan own) and i highly doubt wigan council wouldn't allow wigan rugby not to have a stadium in its own town.
so are you guessing the events that go on at the stadium are more from wigan football than rugby? do you know who brings in the most money into the dw?
i will be honest i don't fully know but i am guessing the sale of al park allowed and raised the funds for dave wheelan to build the dw stadium.
oww yeah and the "landlord" is in need of cash at the dw cant see us being moved anywhere right now.
i also have 2 big toes and 8 little ones, i am not the brightest but i do ok for my self in life but thanks for your concern .
but back on track, st helens finances aren't good at the moment kind of the like the playing sqaud and wigans club is all round fantastic right now.

I will be honest,i dont fully know, but the sale of Central Park saved Wigan from going bust, they were then left with no choice but to move in at the then allready built JJB,they also very nearly moved to Bolton.Whelan had previously tried to buy Central Park to develop and share between Latics and the Rugby club.
Bits of my statement maybe wrong, but i am no expert on Wigan RL,and after your comment about our squad neither are you on Saints

| Regarding Saints finances, we are not going to get a true reflection off the clubs finances for a while. We will get the year at Widnes' numbers in the next few months and these are likely to be pretty horrible. Even next years will not be a fair reflection as we have still got some one offs still to pay (c***ing).
The end game is to make Saints sustainable, but we will have to wait a while to know if this has actually been achieved.
The greater game is still not going to be sustainable either way.

My intellect is self-evidently several leagues above the likes of yours...
And yes, I'm sure Wigans' premier sports team are desperate to keep on receiving the 1.5 million or so a season your lot of squatters have to give them to keep the bailiffs away when they otherwise would have to make do and mend on the mere 60 million a year they get from the Premier League alone....
Given how many Pies there are that are trolls on this forum, I think the new Piedome should be built under a bridge to make them all feel at home... Or under a stone where most of them belong

Let's see who's better off in 10 years' time then shall we? The club that owns it's own money-making, state-of-the-art stadium lock-stock-and-barrel, or the club that bought trophies for a decade that it had to sell it's assets and future to be able to afford, and is now a vagrant tenant of a giant football club at a time when the football authorities are starting moves to force football clubs to kick out their rugby tenants.
See you at LSV or Salford in a decade

haha i am trying to be half serious and your making me laugh too much. have you been to langtree yet or seen the photos? the roof has fell off and you cant put the cladding up because it may cause to much pressure on the stands. in ten years wigan football will be relegated wigan rugby will still be at the dw, saints will still be at the trailer park struggling to maintain the up keep and mc manus will be moaning to the rlf still because you still have an empty trophy cabinet.
