| I think that five main props is what you need, our success in 2006 was based on this being true for us. Next year we will have Laffranchi, Perry, LMS, Clough which probably does leave us one short.
Maggenis is a player that is being converted into a prop but is not physically up to it yet. Puletua has shown that he is best used as a loose forward but does add a lot of size. While Frodsham and Forster have spent most of the season injured.
I think that Saints probably see Forster as the fifth prop. He is a big strong runner who would have probably broken into the team this year had he been fit during our injury crisis. He played in the u20s the other day but I doubt he will be given a run out this year but you never know.
I think we have props on the brain as we have been lacking Clough all year and Perry has only played half his games. With both fit next year and hopefully Forster making his debut our front row should not seem such an issue.

I think you're right, but probably because they have been such a weapon for us over the past 5 years. As I said before, I think a couple of my suggestions were me getting giddy and overthinking.
Assuming the wheels have fallen of Frodsham, I beleive the club must think that someone in the reserves will be able to fill in next year if we need an extra prop. That, or we'll sign someone to fill a gap.

| Forster, Magennis, Ashurst, Dixon and Hale all played in your U20 side at Wakefield over the weekend.

And we lost
Ashurst and Dixon aren't good enough and never will be. I still think Magennis could be a useful SL player with a bit more work.
Haven't seen enough of Hale/Forster to form an opinion.

| Wigan, noticing they're struggling in a dept, sign a player as cover? Bloody hell, Saints should be looking at this revelatory approach.

But there's a few "fans" having a moan about it on the Wigan site!! Sometimes I wonder what goes on in their heads.

That could be a good signing if he can get back to playing the rugby he can play.
I think it just didn't work out for him at Leeds.

| Just noticed on the Bulls forum that one Andy Lynch is OOC come the end of the season.
So maybe there is a Quality prop still out there. Whether we could prize him away from Bradford or have enough left on the cap is another matter.

He's been linked with Leeds. I like lynch. He's hard working prop that never takes a back step. Hes getting on now but still a very good prop.

| I may have got that from bad info, part of the thread says he's OOC another part says he is signed until 2012. Can't be bothered checking which Bulls fan is right.
There is also talk of Leeds having Griffin, but as you said on another thread this weekend no clubs can sign before september so still time for a steal.

If the club grants permission for players to talk tho clubs then it's ok. It's obvious we let Kyle and Graham do this. If hudds ain't offering griffin a new deal or he's said he's defo not signing with hudds then I'd imagine they will have let him talk to other clubs.
Griffin would do a job for us. Griffin, perry, lms, TP and laffranchi wouldn't be to bad with TP and laffranchi both able to play the loose forward/prop role.

LMS, I still can't decide whether he is an improvement on Hargreaves or not. It's his first year with us and he has some good qualities and can run the ball hard, but I don't know. I 've just not taken to the lad this year. Don't know why, but then again none of our signings this year have really been stand out performers for the year. But I'm a patient lad, maybe it just takes a while to settle into a new squad.

I'm the same mate, Im not sure if he's a improvement on bryn or emmit. It's still his first year and still might need time to settle. It's shocked me how sift he's gone since his move to saints.

It's all that time spent relaxing with his dog in our wonderful green spaces. We need to send him to Manchester to remind him what it's like to be an East End boy.
