I don't think that's true. Although he's another troll, PY is right on this occasion. It's very hard to see how Kyle can ever consider a return to Saints given the unbelievable way the fans and the club behaved.
It hurts to say it but I hope he suceeds in Union. If he doesn't, it won't be us he returns to and there is a world class scrum half in there.

| You can see right now that he doesn't enjoy playing for Saints, i bet he wishes there wasn't this 'big injury crisis'* so that he could just sulk in the background

Yep had nothing to do with him or his agent, it's all the club and the fans fault.
Nothing to do with his appauling opening to the season, his disinterest in playing and the general messing about and touting himself to anyone possible.
If he goes to Union I doubt he'll be back in a year. They have a fairly long contract with him and Farrell took the best part of a year before he even played a game. For the first year he'll probably spend it on the wing, touching the ball 2 or 3 times in a game , apart from receiving the ball from kicks. He would have to be the worst ever to make a mess of that.
If he does come back no doubt he will come back with high expectations of being a wonder and someone will shell alot of coin for him, but he will have played union so will have lost 50% of his game, pretty similar to Harris and Lee Smith. Both wonders when they left, just about average when they returned.

| Nah his kicking alone should secure his union future, they can leave him on the wing scratching his nuts, whistle goes, out comes the tee 2 points here, 3 points there, job done.

Come off it. He's been dire. If we were talking about some middle-of-the-road scrum half I'd be tempted to agree. Instead we're discussing a player who twelve months ago was arguably the hottest property in SL turning in performances that aren't good enough to dislodge a pair of rookies. And it's not like he has injury to fall back on as an excuse. He's fully fit!

He hasn't played more than a few minutes at half back though.

No different to any junior with aspirations of first team glory. They live on tidbits of gametime for months at a time. The failures find it impossible to chisel out a performance from the scraps they are given. The successes make every minute count. Eastmond has the advantage of knowing how to succeed and is physically mature. So far - zip.

| You are all wrong!. Our saviour - if he ever stays fit - is Gary Wheeler. He has already shown enough to prove that he is our long term SO if he can shake off his gingerbread man tendancies to injuries.
As ive said before; my nephew played with or against all these young kids (foster, lomax, wheeler, mc guiness, gakell, ashe, armstrong etc) at blackbrook and he says that everyone agreed that wheeler is the best of a great crop. He cud be our next Tommy
God like player.
For what its worth imo gaskell has very good but not great potential.

If.
I love Wheeler as a player, but there just seems no end to his bad luck.
Gaskell probably would benifit from a rest. There's a period early in a youngster's career where he's bouyed by sheer enthusiasm after being given his first team chance. Gaskells first run in the team has been very long, especially given the amount of responsibilty he has and the pressure his position carries. When he gets a rest he'll have a time for reflection without the pressure of next weeks game coming up. He'll also get a chance to apply what he's learnt in the odd reserve game aginst lower standard opposition.
If Leon stays (and stays fit) and Lance arrives for next season. He may well benifit from a dual reg at Leigh. They'll be after a half back given Ellis is off to Hull.

Biscuits have a sell by date. Gary's unfortunately has long gone. He won't play for Saints long term.

How harsh can you be on a player? Stop letting your bitter predjudices get in the way. Like I said, I don't care about Kyle, I just think Gaskell, he of the hospital and behind the back passes and knock ons on Friday could do with having the pressure taken off him occasionally. While we've got Kyle in the squad, we should use him.

Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.:Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG |

| People forget what Kyle Eastmond is capable of in breaking down defenses. Personally I think his agent got inside his head and events followed on from there.
The odd few minutes we have seen him play his body language and temperment has changed for the better, would like to see him at half back and give him the opportunity to pay back the team and fans.
Like I,ve said before short term Gaskell will be the substitute back, when Pryce comes back he will partner Lomax, when Lance turns up next season he will partner Lomax.
We need at least one experienced head in at half back and I should imagine this is how Royce will see it.
Wigan, Warrington and Huddersfield have been able to negate our half back combo of Lomax/Gaskell, Wheeler and Eastmond provide more unpredictabilty and off the cuff plays.
And I still think an in form Eastmond/Pryce partnership is far superior than an in form Lomax/Gaskell one, but will we ever find out.

Not if the rumours about Catalans being in negotiations with Saints about Leon being released this season so he can replaced Ben Farrar in their squad are true. We'd be utterly stupid to let Leon go, despite his injury this season.
Not just because it would leave us without our best attacking player, but because it would mean Paul Wellens would have to play fullback for another 12 months, something we cannot contemplate if we want to be competing for trophies.

40218_1286737075.jpg Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill):d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40218.jpg |

| When Kyle still appeared to want to play for Saints, I used to dream of seeing him and Gary Wheeler in the halves as I thought those two combined would be fabulous. Gary Wheeler is one of only a few Saints players who have guile and a real rugby brain. It is so sad that Hoffman and his dirty play have taken him out of the game this season. A dislocated shoulder can happen to any rugby player and so I don't think this is a typical Wheeler injury. He and Pryce are both still about 3 weeks away from returning.
Since Kyle is now going, Lomax and Wheeler could also turn out to be a great combo, with Gaskell as our back up guy who will undoubtedly have benefited enormously from his unplanned season as our first choice halfback. I would hate to see Hohaia force out Lomax or Wheeler even though I also acknowledge that we need experience in the halves. Trouble is, we need it now. We might not actually need it next season!
