when you watch it again you will see a few points where Wigan used there usual cheat tactics... take a look at the water carrier for instance !

When Hampo runs past Foster? That's just Hampo being cheeky...get over it.
Like it or not every team pulls tactics looking for an advantage now & then...Foster's "injury" around 75 mins, for example - nothing more than killing time. Q: How is that any worse than a player looking for a penalty? A: It's not.

That's just Hampson being cheeky? I love the way you just pass it off. You would be a cracking defence lawyer-
"What Roger? That's just Roger being a bit rapey...get over it".
It wasn't much different from when that Costin fella crocked Sean Long a good few years ago, or Terry Newton on Gilmour & Long. Yes it's a mans game and we don't want tick rugby but come on, Hoffman was that late Wheeler could have brewed up.

You're comparing Hampson running between Foster and his kicking tee to Costin on Long and Newton on Gilmour/Long?
You really shouldn't post when drunk.

Too all the players of both teams . Too all the fans of both teams . Thank you for what was a wonderful match played in a teriffic spirit.
My team won , but had they lost which looked likley with 60 seconds to go it would not have made it any less a great game and a wonderful advert for Rugby League.
Stop trying to score brownie point over each other and be glad "YOU WERE THERE"
Regards , EW

| The shot on wheeler would barely get a mention if he hadn't been injured as a result of it. There are far worse late hits every week in SL that go unpunished.

No It was Hampo trying to cheat, another one off the tip sheet eh.
Unfortunately Hoffmans late shoulder charge won em the game, they got away with It.
Nowt we can do about It now,Maguires tactics wins another one so theyre happy we aint.
In saying that I think It will strengthen our resolve and we live to fight another day.

| I think had the ref given a penalty for the late challenge on the kicker, then people would have said well it was just an unlucky consequence as it was, the touchy and ref ignored it and so not only did we lose a guy but there was no recognition of it or even a stoppage in play when the play came back down the other end.
It was a huge turning point in the game on so many levels, sub wise, injury wise, half back wise, it's one of those that's hard to let go as it just had such an impact.
But Wigan will be very lucky to get Saints in such a beat up team the next time we meet. So we'll see how it goes then.
Having said that though, the last 12 months we have really struggled to get our half backs on the field against wigan. It's almost like the wigan fans have their voodoo dolls out to keep our backs injured for these games.

| We can debate whether the Hoffman challenge was late until the season ends but one indisputable fact is that Hooper copped a four match ban for exactly the same hit. I don't expect the disciplinary to remain consistent so it's probably best to forget about it (although the players now know what they can get away with doing to the opposition kicker in future and I hope they'll deliver exactly the same).
The loss of Wheeler certainly didn't do us any favours as his kicking was forcing Wigan back time and time again. That said, we can't really blame the lads as their defence was only breached in the first half by a mile forward pass.
I thought Wigan were pretty mediocre, TBH. For the first thirty minutes they were extremely lethargic and only managed to make serious yardage on the back of individual rugby (two breaks by Tomkins). In the second half they found it easier without Puletua and Graham and the absence of Wheeler's kicking. Instead of making fifty yards per set we were down to thirty and Wigan were suddenly starting their possession close to the half way mark. It was noticeable that once those props returned to the field it didn't take long for usual service to be resumed.
Inexperience and injuries cost us the game. Nothing more. Lomax and Shenton will learn from their mistakes and be better players. Throw into the mix Perry, Pryce, Flannery, Gaskell, Clough, Wheeler etc. and we'll be okay. It'll also be handy having a born competitor in the backs like Hohaia next season who will make sure minds stay focussed on the task in hand.

Unless he suffers the same fate of the half backs injury curse against Wigan.
But yep, we did pretty well all being said
