| Quote: LovesToSpooge "Fair enough. I just dispute the statement "Wigan avoided our pack in the grand final". I think that's far from the truth.'"
I was not saying that Wigan avoided a forward battle because they were scared/overpowered etc etc. They just knew that they had a big advantage elsewhere. The evidence is where Wigan scored their tries Gleeson 2 (centre), Goulding (wing), Tomkins (running at Flannery in the centres) plus the two disallowed tries Farrell and Leuleui were scored running at the Centres.
A victory for good coaching and a game plan if ever there was one.

| Quote: St pete "Ashurst, i couldn't see what all the fuss was as i didn't see what he could bring to the side but before he got injured he was showing signs of a good wide running 2nd row but im still unsure.'" I agree with this. I also think his upturn in form coincided with his physique maturing quite alot. i thought he looked a bit weedy for a backrower at first, but he's put a bit of weight on and all of a sudden has a good althetic frame.
Quote: St pete "Magennis looks good, he has something to his game with his off loads, he don't just want to make the numbers up but wants to make a impact but i think his injuries over the last two years will prevent him being the star he could have been.'" We haven't seen a lot of Mcgennis, but the little we have has been impressive. He fell behind Ashurst and Dixon due to injury as (we're informed) he was always the most promising youngster. Now there's a new coach and all the players have a reletively clean slate, we may see a lot more of him.

| Saints, Wigan, Warrington and Leeds are still ahead of everbody. Saints and Leeds have barely got any international representatives for a change this year so I think we'll end up being fresher next year which coud boost both of us and may see a reduction in injuries and an improvement in form.
Huddersfield will be there or thereabouts though, keeping Nathan Brown is a big boost for them and they've got a good competitive squad.

That's pretty much it for me too. If Rovers can keep Mason fit and get something out of him then they could push themselves into the four but at the moment I see it as...
Wigoon
Saints
Leeds
Wire
Rovers/Giants
I have a question mark over Wire's pack and specifically if they can get another good year out of Morley. Harrison has definitely come on so perhaps he can take up some of the slack that Morley's advancing years will generate. Their back row isn't as strong as any of the other big guns which again adds question marks because us and Wigoon have bulked up. Tony Smith will keep them in it though.

| HKR have big Willie coming in, but Hudds are also adding Luke O'Donnell to their pack, so they're going to be more than a handful.
How much further up the table do we think Bradford are going to finish? They've recruited heavily despite losing Menzies (and prob Orford) and Potter's a coach who can get results in the league.

I think Warrington have a very strong pack. Morley's showing no signs of slowing down. Their back row in particular looks good to me - Westwood, Harrison, L Anderson with Solomona coming off the bench is nothing to sneeze at.

They've still got mid-table personnel, IMO.

Which would be a slight improvement for them. If I'm correct, they've got a whole new 3/4 line and a decent set of forwards, but if they don't sort out their half back situation it could really bite them. I think they'll be in the play offs, though.
Going back to Morley, he looks prety good to me. Doesn't seem to be slowing down and looks in great nick. I'm looking forward to the internationals so he's playing for the team I'm shouting for.

I think Bradford will be looking at a 6-8 finish myself, Potter will have them competing well enough to do that IMO.
As for Hudds, I thought the Brough signing was a decent one for them, but thought his introduction half way through the season disrupted them for a while. A full pre season with him in the team getting their moves worked out will benefit them, as will a number of players going over for the Four Nations.

I'm younger and slimmer than Solomona son.
