And if the season ended at the end of the weekly rounds Saints would be the most successful rugby league club of recent times (in terms of the league)

There was nothing in it and when you watch the replay you'll see that Mr Chisholm started a fraction before anyone else.
The reason it didn't pulled back was we had already had two false starts and the Grand Final was due to start.

| Dan Brotherton apparantly looked like a decent player, he scored against both Halifax and Warrington and looked extremly fast in the mans fastest race competition.
Well Done lad.

Well it's good job it doesn't. Being a Wigan fan I'm opposed to all Saints success.

In a rugby context, it's how fast you get up to speed that's important though

Same old Leeds, always cheating
Phil Bentham was probably in charge of checking false starts so it would have looked level to him

| Another thing to note is Brotherton has only just signed for Saints from amateur RL so wont have the professional sprint training and conditioning the other runners will have had.
Hence it may be that with the right coaching he could be somewhat faster .
On the other hand at 6ft 4inches we may end up bulking him up to the extent he is 3 yards slower

Professional sprint training?!?! Nah not us, he will finish last by the time we have built him up.

| It may be a bit pedantic but I cant see how you can possibly call it "fastest man in Superleague" if none of the players competing actually play in Superleague? It would have been like Cas entering Dwayne Chambers.
Surely it should be called "fastest man who currently plays RL for one of the Superleague clubs at u18's or u21s level".
If we were in America, I could sue someone.

Leeds have bulked Chisholm up, but retained his speed (still not a good RL player). The strange thing last night was watching Kev Penny twice get caught when he was clear.
As I said on the other thread Brotherton looks fast rather than quick, in that he doesn't appear to have good acceleration from a standing start, but can certainly motor when he gets into his stride, probably a bit more Pat Richards than Martin Offiah.

for me, the explosive pace is much more useful in a rugby context, you never have to do more than 90mtrs at the very most!
