try reading before you comment - nobody is suggesting they will be evicted, rather they may be forced to play elsewhere in the event of a fixture clash with the football.

Do wigan athletic now own the stadium? I heard Whelan say he was going to give it to them last year but never heard anything since. Only thing I can find is wikipedia saying the football club own it but I am taking that with a pinch of salt.

Yep - he gave the football team he owns the stadium he owned. Wigan RL have a long term lease to use the stadium but I'm pretty certain everything outside of game day revenue goes into Whelan and the latics pockets.

In the past I think he owned the stadium via another company which essentially made it independant of either club, saying that it was still Whelans and Whelan is a football man.

I've read elsewhere that Eamon expects the new stadium to generate alot more income for the club.

The in-ground catering will be profitable for the club, something we don't get at Knowsley Road.

There are also the facilities like the corporate suites they hope to utilise for year round income, selling them for conference's and the like.

Saints are currently promoting the entire south stand at the new stadium as a corporate facility.

Hence current season ticket holders are being offered seats in the north stand or a place behind one of the goals on a terrace.

Bang goes any hope of an atmosphere...

So much for giving the fans a stadium they deserve! We will hardly have any space left to use it!

Dont be so negative - I'm sure the space will be opened up at a later date but it's pretty understandable that the club are trying there best to generate more income streams. Simple fact is we need money coming in to invest in the club so suck it up.

small things amuse small minds

That's the impression I got yesterday but,having seen a price list now,I'm unsure.It has adult season ticket renewals for the North Stand at £232 and for the South Stand at £244(although I dont know where those seats in the South Stand will be.)
