| Lets toss David Fairleigh's name into the hat. He seems to be in the running for all the top jobs in Australia but never gets them.

| What’s Steve Folkes doing these days? (just checked and he’s strength and conditioning coach at Wests) We must get a NRL calibre coach but anything else these days is pretty much a waste of time. Whoever the new coach is (and I pray it’s neither Morgan nor Kear) they will have a difficult first season in charge with most of our home games next year not at home in the first half of the season which means they’ll be on a hiding to nothing because we won’t start well with so many away games. Big risk for somebody coming here now that this competition is competitive.

| why would either cunningham or scully be good enough to take over as a coach? neither of them have ANY coaching experience at all. Fair enough they are/were great players but this certainly doesnt mean they are great coaches. I would certainly like to see Keiron Purtill kept involved. He and Anderson did a good job as joint coaches of Hudds. I think Cunningham or Scully could only fit into an assistant role with a proven NRL coach with the top job.

| I`ll throw a curveball in.
Meninga.
There were rumours of talks when DA left and perhaps this was the deal.
MP always said he would go back after 2 years.
Meninga steps down as Queensland coach after 5 years.
Always thought we may have another coach ready as 2 years is very short term in what is a rebuilding phase.

Why would our Chairman appoint a coach who we have just put 54 points past? Regardless of if he looks good in sunglasses, goes on the tv and smiles.

| I'll cry if it's Justin Morgan, he simply isn't good enough.
I'm with McClennan on this, it has to be an NRL coach, there simply isn;t the quality in this country. Those suggesting KC and Scully are mental. Neither of them have any coaching experience.

All true
But who do you think would make the change from NRL to SL? Ricky Stuart would be a great coup but unlikely.

| Meninga works for me. First ever Queensland coach to win 4 Origin series consecutive, a club legend, a marquee name. I'd also be happy with Fairleigh, Ricky Stuart, or any other NRL coach/assistant coach. I only say Meninga first because I think he seems most realistic out of the crop.
Have to agree with everyone else, Morgan would be a disappointing choice and I just don't know what planet those who are suggesting KC/Sculthorpe are living on.

| I'd like to see Meninga or Fairleigh take the job if i'm honest. Both were great players for us, and both have experience to some extent in the NRL, not sure how possible it would be though.

| Would Meninga be willing to give up his business interests in Australia? Isn't that one of the main reasons he has never coaches at club level?
