| We met three really nice Saints supporters in the Irish Club before the game and we had a good chat. Sadly for me they gave me some bad news about an old mate of mine who they used to drink with in the Reading Room at Haydock.
On the way back to the car there was nothing but good wishes (begrudging ) from the Saints fans.
A hard contest in which both teams gave their all, and no spectator can ask more from their team.

| The only reason Wigan fans are so friendly with Saints fans all of a sudden is because their team has the wood over them. Ive been to many Saints/Wigan game's over the years purely to watch a good contest, and whatever you lads with your 'we respect your team' quotations think, I've witnessed firsthand the bitterness erupt between your two clubs.
Especially when Wigan couldn't buy a result against Saints.
South Stand at the DW in 09' I think it was (could be wrong); Wigan were in total control of the match, you could feel the tension and desperation, then Pryce scored right infront of the Saints end and this lad threw his pint at the wall (only plastic I know) and shouted a barrage of profanities towards Scousers etc.
So lose the halo's please! There are neanderthals in every support section.

| Funny how another love in thread by the Goon 21-12 along with yet another little dig at Wire ends with more Goons jumping in doing the same (noticed how the Leeds women getting a dig and the happy chap ready with a broken bottle didnt get mention by them)
Cringe
Was it like this when Saints were sticking 70 odd on them?

| Quote: morleys_deckchair "woah there fella..... where did i mention thugery? The only thugery i can see in this thread is where the male saints fan has assaulted a female in a leeds top.
All i did was comment on the new found camaraderie between saints and wigan fans... all this mutual backslapping and friendship just goes to show what a truly great game we have.
'you're such a nice club'
'we will help you make a few flags for your version of the ultras'
'nice to see you stayed to the end and clapped your team off'
etc etc etc.... heart warming stuff
maybe now you're all such good buddys the wigan mods will unban saddened.'"
I know; I find it all a bit "pass the sickbag" and wonder how friendly these wigan fans would be if we had won.
Anyway haven't you already merged your scarf with leed's?

They wouldn't. They are just all being patronising and I'm amazed people are responding to them.
I wish they'd go away. I want to talk about Hudds on Friday.

| The easy nature between saints and Wigan comes from a number of factors-
They've had a period where they've struggled which has passed and now have one trophy in the bag from last year, which has taken the pressure off. They're clearly the best side at the moment.
Combine that with the fact that Saints fans probably have come to terms that we're outside bets for any trophies, so the thought of not winning is less offensive than in previous years.
Also the fact that the majority of posters don't some on hear to wind each other up. Unlike some.

I've never had a falling out on any other board than that pie eating board. The min you post something they wanna shoot you down. They are really beginning to wreck my head.

Thanks for the congratulations on how good we was. It really means a lot coming from you lot!
Idiots, what's makes you lot the god of supporters! We dont need to be told how good or how poor supporters we are by a bunch of patronising Wigan fans that are full of their self importance.
