I'd definitely play long if fit against pies, his best performances are against them.
None of us know if he is staying for next year, the same with KC. If he is then keep playing him, if he is retiring, or moving on then start to play less and give eastmond some game time.
As said above though play him against wigan every time, they fear him big time.

Quote: Saddened! "So we are planning on waiting until Long retires in order to see if the kids are capable? Strange way to do things.'"

That's a very good point and 1 I've been saying for a long time.

I don't think we should get rid of long even tho he is avin his worst season for many years but I don't think he should have got straight back in the starting line 13 after his injury.

He should have been on the bench and made to fight for his scrum half spot.

It would have sent message to the players that they need to fight to get back in the team and also shows the kids if ya play well you stay in the team.

I honstly think eastmond is good enough to keep long out.

Pitty we not got top class young 2nd row to keep wilkin out!

From what I've seen from the saints kids only wheeler and eastmond IMO(ski) have a chance of making it to be top class.

I'm not saying the others won't make it but I don't think they will b top class.

Just because you post this doesn't mean if I disagree I won't post a differing opinion.

Having heard Tommy Martyn, Chris Joynt, Andy Farrell and a couple of others all say that Sean Long is the best player they have ever played with or against then I don't think I'll take your bitter opinion into account.

Played With is just about Plausible (Not likely Though!) but Against!

That ones bordering on insanity!

Give over, bar last night Wilkin has been excellent, both in defence and attack.

They was all gash last night!

Disgusting performance and the lads knew it when the whistle went. They put more effort in running off the pitch than they did for the full 80.

We simply lost because of our mentality, nothing more, nothing less. Turned up thinking we had already gained 2 points. With Leeds losing this defeat could do us a favour! We certainly cant play as bad as that again this season.

Paul Clough can hold his head up high thou. Fantastic player, never takes a backward step, works his ar*e off every game and did last night.

Oh and one more point, can all those fans that keep spouting all this rubbish about us going unbeaten etc... all shut up! It only bites us on the ar*e!

I thought Fa'asavalu had his best game for a while yesterday, was probably our best player and Pryce tried hard i thought, seemed to take a lot of ball at Bradford, especially in the first half.

However, i do agree with what your saying. I think it will be the kick up the ar$e we need, like you say we can't play that bad again and we still only lost the game by 4 points.

Having just watched the game again just to confirm my own thoughts - and then quickly deleting it - I have come to the conclusion there are some people on here who dont actually watch the game. icon_rolleyes.gif

For all of the people who are claiming that Long was rubbish on Friday - what exactly are your reasons.
If its goal kicking then you simply dont understand that it is a team/management failing that he is our best kicker - not his own
I dont remember him missing one tackle and his only mistake as far as I can remember was a bad pass about 18 mins in.
His organisation was as good as it normally is, his support and running were also as good.
The reason we lost was we went into the game with the wrong attitude and we got found out. There have been plenty of games were we have only played well for 15 - 20 mins and in that time done enough to win it. Friday just wasnt enough.

FWIW I thought that KC was atrocious his passing was awful and he missed more tackles than I think I have ever seen him do but if he has a bad game every now and then I think he has earned enough brownie points over the years to not get the abuse that Long is now getting.
