| Quote: Mugwump "I'll happily take one game from the Wigan and Hull matches. To be honest, I wouldn't be too concerned if we lost both. After all, it's easy for players' heads to become inflated with adulation. A defeat or two would serve to keep their minds on the ultimate objective.
A lot depends on the injury situation. It wouldn't take too many more knocks to leave the squad looking threadbare (especially at centre and on the wing) going into the Leeds match.
The good thing is we've got the points on the board early. Even if we cough up (which is a certainty) - current form suggests no-one is likely to put together six or seven straight victories.
Warrington still haven't resolved their half-back problem.
Wigan can't seem to function without SoL.
Leeds made a hell of a lot of mistakes against Wigan (and Hull). And if ever a side were reliant on one player - Leeds are with Jamie Peacock. Against the Pies he seemed like the only prop on the field!
Huddersfield have a lot of catching up to do.
Hull KR???'"
yep, i barely noticed MOM Cuthbertson either...

As a functioning, hard-yards prop I didn't notice Cuthbertson either. He certainly wasn't the first man to the ball when Leeds needed to steady the ship and get out of their own twenty. Which is probably the reason he was bounced around several NRL clubs without ever really making a splash. In Australia you have to show that you can do the hard grind before anyone starts thinking offloads are valuable. What is he now, 30? 31?
QED.
He did play very well in a role more suited to a second row forward, tho. Very similar to Ali Lautiti, in fact.

| Just checked Cuthbertson's age now and bumped into this tidbit on Bloggerpedia
[i"In 2007, Cuthbertson credited finding Christianity a year ago as the catalyst for his rise from obscurity."[/i
A ringing endorsement if ever I've heard one. ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

| Quote: Judder Man "I would like us to win our game at Hull KR and at least one game at the Easter weekend. Last Easter we were in bad shape on the injury front having lost Walsh in the Easter game, this season it looks as though we could keep our pack in good shape with Walsh and Burns on the horizon.
For the Good Friday game the goons will raise there game, but if saints take care of Matty Smith I think they may struggle to provide enough attacking options against Saints scrambling defence.'"
I wouldn't worry about Matty Smith tbh , if we do what we have been doing well and smash their forwards Smith will spend most of the game kicking out of his own 20. I have no doubt the goons will be up for that game and Ape man will have his pack of Diddymen frothing at the mouth before kick off but we just need to match their aggression then steam roller them. If we get on top Mental Mickey's head will go and with luck we'll be playing against 12 men for some of the game.

Sky MOM is decided on who looks flashiest most of the time - didnt Jamie Foster once get it because he caught a ball behind him and pulled it round behind his back?

Yep, at the moment I would have him level with Amor. Walmsley and Hill just ahead for me.

| Cuthbertson had a great game the other night. 137m, 7 offloads, no errors and 24 tackles. That's a fine performance in anyone's book.
I'd just add though that Wigan's front row is hardly a challenge at present. A better comparison is when Leeds went to Warrington, one of the better packs. On the face of it, Cuthbertson's 110m in that game looks a solid contribution in comparison to Amor's 108m and Walmsley's 180m against the same opposition. However, look closer and you'll see that Cuthbertson against Warrington needed 25 carries for his metres and only went at 4.4m a carry. That's bad. Amor and Walmsley consistently go at 7/8 a carry against all sides.
I've posted on the Leeds board, I'll wait to see how that group of forwards goes against us before praising them to the high heavens. Facing our forwards is a challenge unrivalled in SL and I suspect Cuthbertson may not look the same prop.

| You don't play that many games in the NRL without any serious fanfare for no reason. Aside from Lee Briers I can't think of too many players who reached thirty and suddenly leapt two levels above normality.
Clearly the guy has talent. So he's probably lacking in some other department. Commitment ... intestinal fortitude - who knows.

| Hull KR do have a habit of making good or even great overseas signings, especially when you bear in mind their recent success. He's a good player but can't take on Mose, Walmesley and Amor alone

| I would keep Walsh back from the first team until after the Goons game. No point bringing him back to have him smashed off the ball twice in the opening 5 minutes and having to be led of the field with a broken jaw.

I think Lance will be willing to take a hit when he niggles "Paddy Wack".

I'd be inclined to agree, sad really but I'm 100% certain Ape would order the cheapshot merchants and thugs in his team to target him.

| Or give Mose a can of Red Bull before the match and instruct him to never leave Walsh's side. That would probably sort them out.
