Got to say, on that evidence, Cunningham has some justification in claiming Smith might make a difference.

The only issue which stood out as a possible worry is our right side. It's still not clicking in attack. But light years better than the Wakefield game.

That right hand side just isn't quality but I thought LMS improved it a bit, the players gave Cunningham a bit of respite we need to move on and upwards next couple of games.

Next week won't be easy either, given Salford's recent form. However, assuming that we'll start to improve our passing and timing as confidence returns, we should have enough on the park to take them.

Tell you what, I wouldn't play Lomax. I think we're better with Tommy there, just bring one of the kids in for Owens.

I thought we were very good tonight, absolute dominance in the first half. It was good to see the points come, it was a professional performance to not panic and wait for the pressure to tell. Smith's kicking was superb at times and the signs are bright with him and Theo in the side.

We were guilty early on of moving out wide too soon, without the forwards doing their work and it didn't seem to work for us for the first 30 minutes for all our dominance.
I have been disappointed with Douglas since he joined us and we improved a lot when he and Lee (who is pedestrian at best) were subbed.

I was impressed by Walker again and Taia had a really good first half.
Morgan still seems a bit lost after big plaudits pre-season.

Apart from the above everyone else played really well and I think the stats will make interesting reading and show how easy it was for us.

As for Warrington, the sooner Patton and TS kiss and make up, the better for their club. Not one player for them stood out for having a good game; they were dysfunctional. Hill, after his injuries looks a shadow of his former self, but it is still early for him.

There's no doubt Tommy is making a decent fist of retrieving and returning the ball at FB. However, what he doesn't offer, which Lomax does, is that instinctive attack where the FB joins the attacking line and creates an overlap, or leads a second line of possible attack behind the first. Lomax gives us options out wide beyond just shipping it out until Percy beats a man.

Owens had one of his better games yesterday, but I'd still prefer Tommy on the wing and lomax at FB.

The ball movement was a lot better tonight.

My only worry is we are a bit too left sided.

On the few occasions Morgan got the ball he looked dangerous but we do need to be more balanced in our attack

Lomax will play, he's very important to our attack. In fact, he's basically our x factor player in attack. He terrifies defences.

Tommy been doing good job but he's basically dead with the ball 90 % of the time. His defence and kick taking is as good as it gets but he has no attack so imo lomax has to play. It was no coincidence we started scoring points last year and went on 12 game run when lomax came back. He's also England fullback and had good 4 nations.

Lomax was fit to play last nigjt but we didn't risk him.

I thought Jack Owens was good last night. No mistakes from him, he scored a try and I'd bet made most carries on the field.

Morgan is a threat with the ball. He's got great footwork and has pace but hardly gets the ball. This might change when lomax is back with him coming out the back.

I think the team will be more likely to pass the ball in Morgan's direction when they know Makinson is outside of him.

The kick that Smith put in for Owens was well weighted and bounced nicely but when he put in lobbed kick for the corner Owens didn't get high enough.
That is one area where Makinson excels, if Smith can put high accurate kicks to the corner Tommy will out jump most wingers.
If KC gets them on working on that it could be worth a try a game .

I agree we need to work that right hand side a bit more otherwise the opposition will just load up the favoured channel. At the moment we have Percival, Taia, Wilkin and Fages on that side with just LMS and Morgan on the other side, I think I would use Makinson/Lomax (full back) as an attacking link up on that side.

I watched NRL last season and Morgan has neither. He makes wellens look like Hayne in the speed stakes. He's pedestrian and even grey viane had better footwork
