| I think it should be a 7's or 9's round-robin weekend something totally seperate from SL with a Trophy for the winning side...
Go on, go ahead mock my idea
Or stick with the original format
Leeds Bradford
Catalan Harlequins
Wakefield Castleford
Saints Wigan
Warrington Huddersfield
Crusaders Salford
Hull FC Hull KR

| no real big games to hang the marketing and publicity on...what a disappointment.
We are dragging the barrell if Saints v HKR and Wigan v Huddersfield are classed as eye catchers!
And, yes I do know HKR beat us twice last season.

| I wasn't going this season anyway but if I was in doubt nothing in that fixture list would tempt me to go!

| I can't believe how poor that line up is. This event will die a death this year. With people already skint and no big match ups on view I think the attendance will be dire.

| See you all down Rose Street to watch the game on SKY.
There won't be room for you at Murrayfield with 67,500 HKR fans will there.

That record's getting stuck mate, think you should swap the limited edition platinum CD to another one.

| Magic weekend should be the last 16 of the challenge cup.
If the top 7 along with the winners on the championship are given a bye to this stage you can make the draw now with 8 qualifier balls. So we know half the teams that are there.
Leeds
St Helens
Huddersfield
Hull KR
Wakefield
Wigan
Castleford
Barrow
All games are competitive, it drops a game from the season for the sl teams, potential for terrestrial broadcast, a realsitic showpiece for NL clubs to get to etc etc.
Ticks all the boxes for me.

| What a miserable lot some Saint fans are! This is a round of Superleague and gives supporters of teams, who never get to Cup finals, the chance to experience the big stadiums and the great feeling of meeting up with other supporters , in what is a great city.
But no, the moaners on this site are not going. Well, frankly, it is their loss.
P.S After the disgraceful comments of James Graham(the sulk....does he ever smile???).... prior to the last Magic Weekend, I hope that,if he does not want to play...he should tell the Saints coaching team and don't bother turning up. After his and Long's performance at Edinburgh...they should have returned their wages to the club.

| Been to more big games than I can remember la..
Surely teams aspiring to Semi final's are bigger than Mcweekendofcrapyfixtures!
Why spend fortune to watch cr@py fixtures?
What ever next, expanding the playoffs to 12 teams!
Or even a mascot race!!

| I enjoyed the derbies at Cardiff and I enjoyed a one-off trip to Edinburgh for it but there is a limit to the time and expense I am willing to spend on these things.
If they went back to the derbies format, I'd go but seven unappealing games, with probably about six of them one sided, and you have to draw the line with a £250 hole in my pocket and a bucketful of grief likely to be the only abiding memories.
Once again, the RFL shoot themselves in the foot. Like other posters, I am absolutely sure that this format will sound the death-knell for something that could have been really good.
I am interested by the thought of the last 16 of the Challenge Cup making up such a weekend but, again, you run the risk of a series of uncompetitive matches.
Derbies guaranteed interest for the neutrals even if it did dilute that special derby feel. Close matches and passion from the supporters involved makes for a significantly better occasion all round.
