To me he is as good as gone now, I really don't think he will stay and if this is so and Bath want him now will they have to pay us a fee plus the remainder of his contract? As if he is to go I think we should try and keep him untill the end of the season while we scout our options for a replacement

When Saints had a consistent half back pairing (Martyn and Goulding/ Martyn and Long/ Long and Pryce) they enjoyed lots of success. During the same period, Wigan chopped and changed their half backs every other year, and won approximately bugger all. We need this sorting, sooner rather than later, so we can regain some stability in the half back, which brings with it success.

I'm not overly bothered, he's been offered a new contract, he's making his decision. The club won't be sounding out replacements yet, so as long as he's made his decision by the time we need to start looking.

Of course it may be that he has decided he wants to go but wants to finish the season here, if it's announced now he'll be getting abuse all year and who'd want that for themselves?
