Hooker, well that is a chunk of cash to be throwing at a hooker to replace Roby for 20 mins a match.

LF: is an option but not really a great option.

In the end there is not a lot of need for him he was a panic buy where as Manu is not a panic buy, he's a quality player and is coming in to replace Flannery and maybe dixon, so there is space in the 2nd row. He maybe costing more than the player he is replacing, but it is a like for like replacement. Where as Lance was a square peg for a round hole.

He was a dreadful panic buy, it reminds me of when we needed a bruiser prop and bought Barry Ward! , we needed (and still need) an experienced quality halfback to help bring on a develop the 2 quality young players we have in Gaskell and Lomax , we dont need some 29 year old utility player who fancies playing halfback.

TBF The Barry Ward thing is a bit ott because Lance is a good player but we simply didnt need a player like him, especially when we are in desperate need in other specialist area's

If he was signed as a fullback then fair enough but as a halfback is just shocking.

I quite like the idea of him coming on from the bench and either giving Roby a brief rest or letting him moved to 13 for a spell. He can also provide cover for alot of positions.

The squad as it stands though I'd consider throwing him at fullback too with Makinson keeping a wing spot for the moment. He has loads of game time there and I think he'd offer more than Wello

It's a real shame Pryce's injury record was so poor for his latter time with us or McManus might have offered him the right deal. He's streets ahead of Lance at 6

A one legged pryce is better than lance.

I like the idea of him coming on for Roby too, but there is the question of how much you pay someone to take on that role. I have no idea of wages, but I would be surprised if Lance was not in the top 5 and for someone to play 20mins but be a top 5 wage earner would seam a little OTT.

This year yes FB would be an ideal slot for him.

All points to him being a poor signing, if we'd have let Wello go and brought in Lance on a 2 year deal to help develop the likes of Makinson or Swift I would have been happy , sadly we didnt and as you say I bet were paying him International halfback wages
