| Quote: FearTheVee "I don't think anyone is saying he's a superstar, but he's as good as the other props on the edges of international honours.
Amor's stats are up there with the likes of Chris Hill - in a far poorer team he averages 112m per game at 7.8m per carry (109m @ 7.2m for Hill) and busts more tackles.
Comparing to Scott Taylor at Wigan, who I think has been excellent this season, his average gain and tackle busts per carry are higher despite carrying the ball far more often and making more tackles in a weaker team.
He's a top, young, go-forward prop and just what Saints needed.'"
As I said good signing, I don't understand a lot of the hype around Hill, think he is solid and has had an unspectacular second season. Taylor has not justified the money Wigan have splashed out on him, they have spent a lot on his potential. Only time will tell. I think Amor is better than both of them at present but all are nowhere near the class of a Graham/Morley/Peacock/Burgess standard player but that is nothing to be ashamed of.
There is a big difference between performing at a mid table club and a team that should be playing in the big games. It will be interesting to see how well he handles the big playoff and cup games.
The real bonus is that we have got a high quality prop without using an overseas quota spot.

| Everyone I would have gone for comes with a problem that they would either cost too much or they would take up a quota spot.
removing the obvious candidates like Graham, Burgess etc who we wouldnt be able to get.
As a starting prop Michael Weyman would have fit the bill perfectly from all of the props who are moving. But he would have taken a quota spot and we would have had to free up some space by ditching Lafranchi or Hohai both of who have current contracts.
So as I said from the ones available I think that Amour is the best we could pick, English with good credibility and 4 years to work with him is a bonus in my book as he isnt a player who we are taking a chance on.

| Quote: Dux "I don't see why Walmsley and Masoe can't be on the field at the same time. '"
You will when you see what they look like defensively after about 15 mins, to play both at the same time has the potential to open us up defensively to the smarter quicker teams.
I watched Masoe very closely against Manly this week and we will have to manage him closely to get the best from him. He seems to have some issue getting back in the line after he has been on a while. On the plus side he doesnt miss them if they run at him. he just doesnt seem to be the type of player who can "play tired"
Walmsley on the other hand is someone we should be working with very closely in the off season to increase his stamina, if we could increase his stamina he would be perfect as the other starting prop

| This is a great signing, he's already one of the best props in the league and he's not at peak age for a prop yet. He's British too which is valuable and on a 4 year contract we'll have him through his best years.
Top marks to the club for pulling this one off, one of the best signing we could have made.

| Will be a tremendous signing for you....
Gutted we've had to sell, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Wakey fan anywhere who would say otherwise......we needed the money though and in all honesty Kyle deserves a shot at a team with a chance of challenging to win something....
Make no mistake he is top drawer at what he does.....as tough a prop forward as I have seen....will run through a brick wall for you.....hurts the opposition with his robust style of running......for me.....he will become the best British prop in the game in the next 12-24 months.......the stats don't always tell the full story....he is more than able to offload and you will probably see a bit more of this if he is playing in a bit more of a dominant/winning team more often.....
We had Leeds fans questioning if Gareth Ellis was really all that when they signed him from us and he went on to be one of the best back rowers in the game.....
We had Huddersfield questioning if Danny Brough was really going to be the man they were looking for and look at him now....
I've every confidence Kyle can be just as big a hit with Saints as those two were for their new clubs......
Sad day for us, but all the best to Kyle....hope he rips it up for you's......apart from against us!!

Cant really add anymore.
Cracking player, still on young not hit his "peak" as a forward, but I havent seen many better props this year than Kyle. Will go with everyones best wishes, and will be welcomed back when he returns to BV.
Aggressive prop who makes yards, tackles hard, gets up of the floor fairly quickly, and can on occasion play a pivotal part in our attack.
You'll love him, and he'll be in England squad within a year (should be in contention now tbh)

| Amazing how easily pleased you sheep are. Don't get me wrong, this looks a decent signing, he's turned into a quality prop at Wakefield.
But some of the hysteria ("I can't believe we've pulled this off"icon_wink.gif shows how low our expectations had fallen. We didn't believe the club would ever wake from their slumber, but there are encouraging signs that maybe, just maybe, they are starting to acknowledge their failings and do something about it. That doesn't excuse the malaise that has been allowed to set in and destroy our squad over the last 6-7 years but it shows a willingness to move forward from now on.
I was also going to say the board would be wise not to assume this will placate the fans, as it's not enough, but it seems from the giddy outpouring on here that it might be. Decent signing but without a halfback to play with Walsh we're not going to be competing for trophies. If they follow this up with announcements of new deals for dead wood in Wello and Laffranchi and then don't sign a stand off, what will the point have been?
This is the time Saints need to step it up. Release Wello and Laffranchi and sign a stand off. Then we'll be cooking on gas.

We're not necessarily rebuilding to be trophy winners in one season, this is just a step in the right direction. There's only so many holes you can fill in once recruitment period and they've done a hell of a lot of filling so far.

I would imagine Hohaia will be our first choice stand off next season and playing beside a proper scrum half we may see a better standard of play from him.
Although I have to say I'm bemused as to why we would re-sign Wello but it seems that is what we are doing.

You say that but Wigan have just won the cup with Blake Green and Matty Smith as their half backs.
