He was. Then he was switched to hooker while Robes was having one of his newly introduced rests and that's when Lance was injured, scooting from dummy half.
We will miss Lance, in attack and defence. Damn shame he got injured.

| Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"Lance is just out and out better than Wheeler. I've never seen anything in Wheeler that would suggest he's got a future in the game, let alone at Saints. He's one of those kids with a big reputation who has just simply failed to live upto the billing.'"
Wheeler is a natural gifted No 6 who can change a game, one of his best performances was against the Wigoons at the DW stadium a few years back but he was tackled late and came off with a damaged shoulder.
Its just that years and years of continuous injuries has damaged his and the fans confidence to the point of will he last more than one game, its difficult to be in form on a one game appearance.
I just hope he can string 3 or 4 games together to get some confidence back with the help of Walsh, so I would say support him and give him some encouragement to keep the shirt.

Well, most of us have advocated him doing a bit at hooker at some point or the other, so I won't complain about that.
Looking at some of the plays he came up with, it seems he's picked up a few tricks for use in the middle, other than his classic early dummy which we could all see coming. He got pace, he's fairly hard to pull down, he supports well and he can do the odd bit of genius. If he improves on his core playmaking (which many say he has in the recent games) then he'll be a good option at 6. I can't see him coming up with a top kicking game, but hopefully we've got Walsh fit for the playoffs to do that.

Lance has more of a kicking game than Wheeler has!

You mean his foot won't fall off when he kicks it?

| Like Walsh has just been withdrawn from the Widnes game! FFS!
Dislocated ankle being speculated by the commentators on Wish FM.

| I've been looking at the fixture list for all the top teams and without Luke, Lance & Lomax I can only see you deffo winning 1 of your remaining fixtures.
Hull FC vs St Helens Hull win
St Helens vs Wakefield Saints win
Leeds vs St Helens Leeds
St Helens vs Warrington I'm not saying a word, I was at all those games in that run you had against us
Huddersfield vs St Helens Depends on which Giants team turns up, but should be a Giants win

Hull Win ?????? I don't think so.
Leeds will depend on what happens in the CC.
