| Quote: SaintsFan "What? How can conceding 48 points, which is worse than last week or indeed at any time since God knows when, mean that 'it is starting to come together'? Just because we scored a few tries off the back of Wire's mistakes does not mean we are on some progression to somewhere better. We're only in 8th tonight because Agent Ganson made Hull FC win.
I'd like to know how Lomax and Robes playing would somehow spirit us a win in that game. They played in the first game of the season but we got tonked by Hudds and conceded over 40 points then too.
Some people are living in cloud cuckoo land. We'll be lucky to finish in the top eight.'"
There's no point arguing with you as you have no knowledge of rugby or common sense. Anyone with any knowledge of the game would know how close it was. Warrington ran away with the last 10 mins, that is all

Bring back Royce that will solve all the problems [size[ior caused alot of them in the first place.[/i[/size
There are positives this season, the fact you can't see that is not anyone else's problem. If it's just the number of points that wire scored that bothers you then don't worry, we have taken worse beatings in the past.
Still lots to work on and plenty of room for improvement, but you can only do so much when you are unable to remove the top earners at will.

Why not???
I was suggesting Yates, but no point ruining a young player if they are not ready.
We gave away Gaskell, Wheeler is injury, Wellens can't play 6, Lance can't play 6. There is no one to play there. May as well play Clough there for all the good it will do us.
I'm quite serious about that too. We have no 7 or 6, so just put good tacklers in those spots to tighten up the defensive line. Lets face it we will not sacrifice anything going forwards. I may infact add to our go forwards to have all props on the field at once.

We are an average team being poorly coached. We have one or two youngsters who may or may not come good over time but I'm paying my season ticket for now and so would like to see more effort from the team that I saw tonight and Jon Wilkin should be given some hairdryer treatment as he was supposed to be our leader, and leaders should stand up in the big games not let the side down completely.'"
Gaskell cant even get a game at 6 for Salford. He left because hes fell out with Saints and doesent want to be here, so let it go FFS!

Good effort from yourselves and carry on playing like that and once again you aint winning no Grand Final. You rely on the wrecking balls Westwood, Waterhouse and Hill too much.

I've been telling them on here for months that Gaskell was shipped out for non playing reasons but people still think he was shipped out due to his poor form.

I've been saying for 2 years that he wouldn't be with us long and no one listened then.

| I was under the impression he was injured and that was why he was not playing for Salford. Nothing to do with form.
Anyway it's not like, not playing for Salford means you are not good enough for Saints. Howarth!!

| I can't take to many positives from that game to be honest. The only positive really, is that we scored points easier than we've been doing but IMO the wolves ain't a great team these days.
The lack of go forward when teams become dominate against us is becoming just as big problem as having no halfbacks. Our props are very poor when under pressure. We was only making 20m per set at times while Warrington was going 60m. 20m isn't good enough at any level of rugby and I include kids rugby in that. Wilkins kicks are very poor but he's kicking mostly from inside our own 20m line and even the best kickers in the world can only hoof and hope.
The defence was shocking at times, especially outwide. Eveytime they moved the ball wide, we was in trouble. God help us at hudds next Monday with the way they move the ball wide and with the likes of Cudjoe outwide.
I just hope we sign two props for next year or I'm afraid the luke Walsh signing maybe a waste of time. Even the best halves in the world can't play do anything in a team that can't get out of there on 20m.
We can't afford to keep Laffranchi or Perry, both have been a disaster and need replacing with proper props.

| St pete. I agree - we are playing terrible. Just imagine the score if we were a good team. Saints remind me of warrington 6 or 7 seven years ago - a one man team. You rely far too much on roby.

I honestly don't think you are that good this year and was surprised how easy we scored points as we e struggled all year putting points on the board but you lot have players that make things happen in the likes of Ratchford, Atkins, briers, myler, Westwood, Monaghan and Especially Waterhouse against us who always plays well.
We ain't in the same league as Wigan and IMO at the moment, Wigan are head and shoulders above you lot. Can't see who's going to stop them.
Lets hope they choke in the play offs again

He has been playing for Salford for a few weeks, at centre. They didn't need anyone in the halves. They have three halfbacks. But they needed someone in the centre. He can play centre, so he plays centre.
If there were problems off field, and that's only rumour, then they should have addressed the problems not simply shipped out a halfback leaving us without a halfback. That's just shooting ourselves in the foot.

Ryan McGoldrick, who is a journeyman and a makeshift stand off at best, has been getting picked at 6 ahead of Gaskell. I do agree that it would be handy to have him around, but it may just be that it wasn't possible to resolve whatever issues were arising. Most of us haven't a clue what's gone on, but I'm prepared to assume that he has burnt his own bridges at Saints because a) that is what posters with consistent insider info have said, and b) I can't think of any other reason why Saints would ship him out under current circumstances.
