I disagree with you on Murphy, Ferguson, Lawrence and McGilvary. All are good solid players'"
It's hard to attract players to "lesser" clubs so he's had to get what he can.
Saints can attract big name players, so he'll be able to sign better standard of player (providing the board back him).
He's took the giants as far as he can and now he's moving on to a better and Biggs club.

| Saints will attract no-one better than the a giants can, you named numerous Giants players you list as not good enough, I could list numerous Saints players of tw same ilk, Brown has gone to a very similar club in Saints.
You are gonna need a massive rebuild and only time will tell if Brown can get it right after 2 failed attempts?
Only time will tell but I reckon you could turn into another of Browns also rans, as we have become.
He will as someone said be going all out to prove people wrong but the question is has he got the tactical nous, as a Giant fan who has had 3 and a half years of watching his tactics and team, I would say no, he can't get his team up for matches that count and has a plan A, if that fails it goes tits up.

Oh dear, lovely pre salary cap comments there. The board will have a grasp of the salary cap. Which is why they lost out on Paea - NB was desperate to get him - and settled for Turner.
Don't even embarrass yourself by trying to argue that Turner is better than Jerry McGilvray
All this lesser clubs / bigger clubs...big names etc...its all rather quaint. Intelligent Saints fans don't indulge in that type of posturing.
brown is a fabulous assistant coach.

He's done wonders for the giants, even you should be able to see that.
I think he's a fabulous first team coach.

| Hard to disagree with this:
Quote St pete="St pete"IMO your squad is behind Wigan, saints, Leeds, Catalan, Warrington and hull. '"
I think it will be interesting to see how Paul Anderson goes...will he actually do any better than Brown? Anderson will probably get a grip on the dressing room, but will he be able to take them as far as Brown? I don't think so really. IMO Brown is seen as the obvious scapegoat at the Giants.
Brown seems to have taken Hudds as far as he can and seems to have lost the dressing room. Brown is still a very good coach and he doesn't become a 'bad' one overnight

| Its obvious that Browns announcement mid season has effected the relationship with the players in the wrong way, perhaps in a similar way with Simmons and our own players at the beginning of the season.
I would bring in Brown next month to work with Rush and Cunningham to try and make some small adjustments to our game, we are nowhere near Wigan, Warrington and Catalans at the moment for game plans and tactics, so is it a risk worth taking.

| It is a tricky one, I'm sure Mac will be tempted to bring him in to the club early even if thats just to get his feet under the table and work on plans for next year. If Brown was brought in as head coach I'd assume at least for the rest of the year both KC and Rush would remain as first team assistants

| Whilst Brown was with us i gave him complete support.
He recieved complete support from Ken Davy re FULL salary cap and TRANSFER money to bring players in.
He Recruited the players , he signed them he identified the targets. If players are not good enough he is responsible for recruiting them.
It was his plan to have a lightweight mobile pack. This worked in the first few games but when we were caugt out there was no plan B. We are now left with a pack which has one effective prop and an OK back up.
The rest of his props this year have been Ferguson, Gilmour , Faalogo, Larne Patrick and David Faiumu. 5 second rows ( one with long standing injury problems) and a hooker.
When NB realised we were going to struggle with the pack there was a panic buying of Tony Tonks from Fev. Wire got Chris Hill.
A little story that shows what he is like
Our conditioner last year obviously got training methods wrong. Some players went to NB and said we are not happy.
Did Brown go to the conditioner and discuss it NO.
He invited the conditioner into the changing room and told the players to tell the conditioner what they thought etc.
The players savaged him and left him in floods of tears as he was ripped to pieces. NB then walked out.
There are other salacious tales which i do not know for certain are true but he is good at telling players how good they are and definitely helps players improve.
He does not however IMHO have the man management skills to motivate or make tough decisions when it goes wrong.
A SUPERB no 2 but not a head coach.
He has taken us backwards compared to his first year here.
The only advantage Saints have over the Giants is a better and more established youth set up. Mcmanus has no more money than Davy, the Salary Cap is the same.
We will wait and see

Totally wrong, the fact is we have lost 8 out of the last 10 games. How on earth is he the scape goat? he is the coach and the buck stops with him. He has been quite clever and used the media for his own benefit. We will see what he does with your superior squad of players next season.

I would let Brown have a short break, then bring him in. The club operating as a 3 man coaching team, gradually releasing Rush into his old role which he prefers.
Cunningham and Brown could produce a working relationship that could turn into a positive for the play offs. Can,t see vast improvements though due to our lack of leadership on the pitch and inexpierenced half back roles.

| Hudd's have never been more than an average side in the super league era and have flattered in the early rounds only to fail when it matters.
